they're most often convicted, that's true enough. But let's face it - we're starting to toss more and more people into jail for even trivial offenses. I suppose that's equality of a sort, but I can't say it's a good thing.

Perhaps the majority of citizens are, but when you include the number of commuters who go to the city daily from Connecticut and NJ, the majority of pedestrians are white in most areas of the city. At least that has been my experience.

The encounter turned testy, and one of the officers tried to wrest open Zeigler's door, even after the three-star chief had identified himself, police spokesman Paul Browne said.

"He dealt with the chief in a discourteous manner, which is unacceptable," Browne said.

At first I thought wow...but then it occured to me if african-americans only account for 12% of our population...wouldnt that indicate that 12% is doing way more than there share of drugs/drug dealing??

I would love to know where they got those numbers. Quantifying a certain percentage of the incarcerated is possible, but how would you get accurate numbers of persons engaged in illegal activity? Like they would just admit it for some survey.
