I don't like when people get killed, but the neighbor didn't exactly have a lot of choice. And as mr_a asked, how does one survive for so long when you point BB guns at people armed with shotguns?

why would anyone be so proud to live in a "gun toting state"?

Do you think the guy with the shotgun was close enough that when he shot the burgler, it left a nice hole in the middle of the guy, kinda like a doughnut? Because that would be ironic, right?

This story oozes with poetic justice. And the characters seem as if they just stepped out of a Cohen Brothers movie. It's just that the whole victim-criminal-hero-redneck irony makes me laugh, sadly.

Why would there be any remorse? A career criminal died during the commission of a crime.

Why wouldn't Texans be proud to live in a state that allows them to protect themselves and others without fear of reprisal?

After talking to police Randal was back in the store. She said she had to keep her promises to customers. "We have orders that have to be delivered," she said.

Well for texans its either that, or being proud that a considerable portion of Pee Wee's Big Adventure was filmed there.

I'd go with the gun toting thing too.

Agreed. Though, i hate the climate there. If you moved chicago's geography down there and kept the cold winters, id be happy to live there.

Because we get to shoot idiots that try to rob us with BB guns, we get to shoot anyone on our property that we perceive puts use in mortal danger, or in this case will shoot your eye out, its awesome.

I would assume they're proud because, you know, the lifelong bad guy got early retirement. Instead of another charge on a long rap sheet and another chance to beat up an innocent person.

I assume because they like guns and see it as a healthy hobby. I also imagine it would also provide a sense of security for their home.

I moved to Austin 3 months ago and have to say I haven't hear anyone brag that he was the governor.

one more thought... since 1783, every time we were in a recession at election time, the party in the White House lost. This is no guarantee, but 235 years of history behind it, I would hate to be McCain right now.

Ok, considering this is Texas and the woman speaks very poor english, I think it is fair to assume that the shotgun "hero" considered blowing a hole in her as well because, y'all know, it WAS kinda fun, and ain't nobody gonna know. I'm sure the only thing which kept this from happening was the fact he wanted a donut.
