God, she is pathetic. She is proving to be a pretty lousy politician, that's for sure.

when your best plea to the voters is that they remain willfully ignorant in order to vote for you, shouldn't you just admit you lost?

"Just turn off your television."

The rest of what she didn't say: "The only way I'm going to be able to recoup my losses from this campaign is to convince you guys, the remaining idiots who support me, to donate more money. You would think a person who is mathematically eliminated would have a hard time raising money -- but you guys make it easy! I just hope no one audits my campaign to find out that I've essentially stopped spending money as of Indiana/North Carolina.. Because you idiots might be upset if you figured out I already know I have no chance and I'm just using your money to repay my debt and refill my coffers. Thanks, I love you guys!"

"Just turn off the television," says Hillary Clinton

But I'll miss Doctor Who, and Burn Notice, and House, and Force 10 From Navarone (42nd showing on AMC this week!), and the Golf Channel, and Comedy Central, and CMT, and the Law & Order Channel...

Pretty much everything that I watch so that I don't have to listen to her, Obama, or McCain. Why can't we just go ahead and put in the one that was always meant to be in charge...

Nice!

It's a shame about the farked up aspect ratio, though. I'm surprised that it's the rare squish 16:9 to 4:3 rather than the more common stretch 4:3 to 16:9.

Well if you have a tv that has a really good chip in it you can get a good looking expanded 4:3 to 16:9.
The Hitachi Plasma I have does an excellent job.
It's nothing like those "panoramic" blurred edges or the simply "stretched" look most manufacturers give you. This tv has a logarithm in the chip that actually makes the expanded 4:3 look right. Don't ask me how but it works.

/hopes one day every channel is HD

If memory serves they stretch the edges. My understanding was that the actors and main concentration of the film is rarely on the edge, so this works really well...or so they say.

My mom never told *me* to turn off the TV, so I think that trumps Hillary's call to do so.

I guess it's fine if she withholds TV privileges from Chelsea, but she can't have my remote until she pries it from my cold, dead hands. Not during F1 season.

Many of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, almost
exactly 60 Years ago, witnesses claim that an
unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens
aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just
outside Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well-known
incident that many say has long been covered up by the
U. S. Air Force and other federal Agencies and
organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of
March 1948, nine months after that historic day, the
following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep?

Hobodeluxe: Well if you have a tv that has a really good chip in it you can get a good looking expanded 4:3 to 16:9.

No you can't. You will either lose part of the picture or distort it.

DavidKirkBeale 2008-05-11 06:43:25 PM
I only have two things to say:

1) that was an amazing SNL clip up there; they really nailed her on the main points that no one wants to bring up in the news

2) I have a Samsung DLP and run all my SD broadcasts in as 4:3 (the component input from my comcast box is smart enough to expand the picture to 16:9 for HD feeds and shrink back down to 4:3 otherwise...i too hate expanded SD programming, although i will admit my TV does a poor job of scaling it, while others I've seen really trick me until I look closely that its actually a scaled SD signal..
