Having Bill stab him to death, then when she took over issue a presidential pardon suspiciously absent.

I came here to say something about short life expectancy of the presidecider elect, but I see I was once again...

too slow!

2. How can Obama possibly campaign as the incarnation of the future, and the repudiation of the Bad Old Politics of the Past, when he has Hillary standing next to him?

I didn't read all the rest, because I think this is the best reason.

Reasons 1-10: She's Hillary Clinton

They forgot 1. She's a congenital liar. and 2. She's a coont.

moothemagiccow 2008-05-10 03:50:58 PM
I don't think it's that bad of an idea. Despite what you say about her politics, Clinton has mobilized something like 40% of the Democratic base (I made that up). I know not all of her supporters are diehard fans who won't vote for Obama, but think of the olive branch extended to those who came out and voted in such large numbers.

BiffDangler 2008-05-10 03:51:45 PM
If Hillary is VP, how soon until Obama dies in an accident?

NeverDrunk23 2008-05-10 03:52:37 PM
Aren't these the same reasons under the '10 reasons not to pick Hillary as President?'

diamond2a 2008-05-10 03:53:35 PM
Good list. I can't believe anyone is seriously considering this other than the media.

I think she'd probably get impeached for conspiracy to assassinate the president.

12. She looks at the YouTubes. Always.

14. Bill will want a 3-some.
15. Hillary will be the last Cylon.

"After meeting with retired generals and admirals and other military officers in Washington, D.C., Hillary Clinton said: "Look I have said Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience, and Senator Obama will bring a speech he made in 2002." http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_clinton_vice/2008/03/09/79057.html

Kick her to the curb.

How about the simple fact that they don't work well together, Hillary is use to giving orders and not taking orders. She'll undermine his direction and authority.

She god forbid might set up something that will enable Obama to be booted from the office so she can stand in as President, to which is the sole job of being VP.

I might be nuts, but lets be honest and admit she is most certainly a power hungry biatch.

This.

Why is anyone even debating this? One, it'll never happen. Two, it shouldn't happen. Here are two people who are (necessarily) at each other's throat for months, trying desperately to distinguish him/herself from the other. One candidate wins the nomination, and is THEN going to announce that the bitter rival is now running mate? Monday: "Her policies and politics are completely wrong for America. they don't work." Wednesday: "I'm proud to announce Hillary as my intended VP and right hand 'woman.' " Talk about mixed signals.

And because this race has been so close, it will be right up to the line, right up to the final campaign as to who will win the nomination. In other words, there's no cooling off period in between the race for the nomination and the race for the White House. McCain has that luxury--all his bitter rivals have had time to cool their heels, wallow in peaceful obscurity--the voting public has had time to forget all the mud-slinging between him and his rivals, and so he has the pick of the litter. The Democratic candidate does not.

You know, compared to the failed Bush admin, I don't see how it could get any worse. McCain and Hillary will screw up this country but good.

I would rather take my chances with the Obama method of destroying the country than either Hillary or McCain.

OneNightStand 2008-05-10 04:41:58 PM
He (Obama) should watch the original Manchurian Candidate for a perspective if he is even thinking about Billary. He would not get a chance to lower his hand from the Oath of Office before a bullet found his brain, Billary would be the new Prez and the country would go into complete lockdown.
Hey Farkers, got your liquor, cigars and ammo stashed away?

Some people say that with Hillary as his VP, Obama will be the safest person on the planet. I say this:

BiffDangler: If Hillary is VP, how soon until Obama dies in an accident?

Seabon 2008-05-10 04:51:07 PM
Obama can't pick Hillary. He'd need a food taster.

No, no, no.

You make good points, but I just don't see it as being about her. It's about the people who voted for her. I'm not going to argue any further, because I didn't say it was a good idea, I just said it wasn't a bad idea. Everyone else is right: Obama would never do it, and Clinton would never accept it.

Salacious Salad 2008-05-10 05:24:51 PM
It doesn't matter. If she wants the VP slot, she can force her way onto the ticket at the convention. That is a near certainty...if she wants it.

JFK took LBJ as his VP after a similarly divisive campaign and it didn't tarnish his reputation.

I can't wait for Barack to pick a VP that has substantial weight in the political field. (One that isn't Clinton)

That way the "OMGZ HE'S GOT NO EXPEREEINCE 1111ELEVENTY" crowd will have to find another fear mongering reason to shoot him down. Perhaps they will go with the "He's the Anti-Christ, IT'S IN REVELATIONS, PEOPLE!" argument. That one seems to be catching some popularity.

BECK: Let me ask you, I get so much e-mail on this and I think a lot of people do, and I've got a couple of seconds. They say Glenn, you and the media, you got to wake up. Barack Obama's making people faint and cry and everything else. He's drawing people in. There are people -- they said this about Bill Clinton -- that actually believe he might be the anti-Christ. Odds that Barack Obama is the anti-Christ.

HAGEE: No chance. He has a lot of charisma. There's a media love affair with him right now. He is a very formidable political person. I believe the best leader for America in the future is John McCain.

BECK: Thank you very much, pastor. Back in just a second. That's good news, at least where I stand.

If I read that right, John McCain is the Anti-Christ.

No, it will then be: 'SEE SEE?! HE PICKED SOMEONE WITH ALOT OF EXPERIENCE BECAUSE HE HAS NONE!! I KNEW IT!!'

Its funny seeing the people who had no intention of voting for Obama in the first place look for new 'reasons' not to vote for him.

NeverDrunk23: Its funny seeing the people who had no intention of voting for Obama in the first place look for new 'reasons' not to vote for him.

That's democracy for you. It's not enough to have one vote, you have to try to control other people's votes.

Exactly. And back then it took LBJ/Nixon/Elder Bush 1000 days in office to execute the assassination. This time it would only take Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton 100 days to make Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama change to Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama/Clinton. Don't let Lady Macbeth become VP unless you want to see President Macbeth Rodham Clinton.

What I find absolutely ridiculous is that it is the most hardline religious people who so feverently claim that so and so is the next anti-christ and us idiots who don't read the Bible are all suckers and will fall for his charm when in fact the whole reason the anti-christ is supposedly the anti-christ is that no one will know it's him until it's too late.

Sooooo....

That would me that it's impossible for Obama to be the Anti-Christ since everyone is already privy to his 'game'. Not to mention, that the Anti-Christ is able to perfom miracles like Jesus and as much as I prefer Obama over McCain or Hillary, I don't see him curing lepers anytime soon.

The Dems need some long term planning, but they need to win this election first.

There is no way Obama can take Hillary as his VP when her campaign questions his ability to be President. The press couldn't let that go, Republican would have a field day and Hillary doesn't bring great experience to his campaign.

Obama should look for an experienced well known white male candidate. He should fight one battle at a time. Having not had too long to think about this (and no doubt people will tell me if this is stupid) he should choose Joe Biden. He meets all the criteria and is well known enough without overshadowing Obama.

If BHO doesn't fark up his first term and is a certainty to be the incumbent nominee he should look for someone younger as VP and has the potential to run for Pres. in the following elections.

Lionel Mandrake [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 07:40:00 PM
10. The obvious, unfortunate, Unevolved Nation reason, namely that some voters will be comforted by a white male on the ticket. Should Obama pay attention to this factor? No. Will he? Good question.

Um...yes, he should.

Baby steps, people.
