Hillary blew the biggest lead ever given to a candidate to start out with. Hillary who enlisted the aid of the right wing media in her effort and a viscous negative campaign attacking Obama still lost.
Obama has a strategy different that the old tried and true failed Democratic path to the white house.
He's going to win out west. I'm thinking Texas might even be up for grabs.
Hillary's numbers are inflated somewhat due to Operation Chaos type voters
The conservative media and the GOP wanted her to be the one they ran against.

these are my arguments

Etchy333 [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 01:17:23 PM
In Slide #4 she has a graph depicting her as the percentage of chart which resembles Pac-Man.

Etchy333 [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 01:19:03 PM
And in all the charts, Obama's portion is red.

If she and her staff can't proofread a damn Powerpoint presentation for content and presentation before sending it out, I have zero faith in her ability to lead the country.

/didn't have much faith to begin with

Hobodeluxe [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 01:23:45 PM
Hillary has shown that she cannot manage well. Her campaign was a shambles. She's up to her eyeballs in debt. In every graph you look at she was trending downward and Obama was still trending up.
She has far too lobbyists in her pockets to bring the change we need.

CarolynLibrarian 2008-05-10 01:27:01 PM
Dear God. If I presented something that looked like that at work, my name would be mud. It's worse than an ALA session.

And the content... wow. Just... wow.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 01:27:52 PM
This seems like a big leap of logic to me.

I fail to see how just because she doing well in certain areas in the Primaries, she would do well in November in those same areas.

My brain tried to shut down while reading that crap. Not only did the damn presentation look horribly ugly, the funny math was giving me a headache.

Oh God. I know. I got halfway through and just stopped. I stopped doing the math at about slide 4.

Desperation is a polite word - if this is the best her team can do for a sales pitch, she doesn't deserve to be elected. I wonder if this is what her first 3 attempts to get votes for Universal Heath Care looked like.

CravenMorehead 2008-05-10 02:29:58 PM
In all fairness to Hillary, the stuff on that slideshow is all she has left. Of course, the stuff in that slideshow is also complete crap.

Still, next week will suck because she will be talking everywhere about her huge victory in W. Virginia and how she has momentum now because of her wins in Indiana and Pennsylvania and Ohio.

And unfortunately the media will play her speeches and give her airtime when there's no way she can win.

She'll crow about how the fact it looks like it she'll kick Obama's ass in West Virginia as proof she is more "electable" to "core Democratic voters" (i.e. white people), when the truth is that if she did get the nomination, there's no way that she'd win WV. It's totally a red state now.

dillenger69 [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 03:04:59 PM
She forgot to mention the lock on 100% of Republicans voting Democrat in open primaries to screw with the numbers since their nominee is already set.

ImOscar 2008-05-10 03:06:27 PM
I like how the graphs represent Hilldawg with blue and Obama with red.

The irony: it rains upon me like it was my wedding day.

jake_lex: when the truth is that if she did get the nomination, there's no way that she'd win WV. It's totally a red state now.

No doubt that if Obama won W. Virginia it would be added to the "States that don't Matter" list for that very reason.

Premise.

Conclusion restating premise.

That is one awesome presentation.

Hillary may win the big states over Obama, but its not like they're going to go Republican in the general election? Obama will win NY, Califorinia, and Illinois for sure. Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, and some other east-coast states- he'll take pretty much as many as previous Democrats did (which is to say a lot).

No one is stupid enough to think that Hillary (D) vs. Obama (D) is going to play out exactly like Hillary (D) vs. McCain (R).

Lionel Mandrake [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 03:56:48 PM
Hillary for President

WINNING IN THE CROMULENT DISTRICTS!

Embiggening the Majority!

Bufu [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 04:19:41 PM
Holy crap, is that some stupid stuff.

For starters, crossover voters notwithstanding, Democrats vs. Democrats are entirely different from a Democrat vs. a Republican. It's not even apples/oranges.

Twisted, contorted, retarded...that's the Hillary campaign at this moment in time.

If it works, and she gets what will be a worthless nomination, it will be one of the most amazing, astounding, and repulsive performances in American history.

It's already pretty repulsive.

I like how she uses the point that shes winning in heavy Repub districts as a positive. I think pointing out that Republicans are voting for her in an effort to screw up the election is probably a bad thing.

mcwebe0 [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 05:10:54 PM
Why Winning the Tough Districts is Irrelevant

Presidential electors are chosen on a "by state" basis not a "by district" basis. The candidate who has won the most states should therefore be the candidate. Obama has one more contests than Hillary. Therefore, Obama should be the nominee.

QED

RichieLaw [TotalFark] 2008-05-10 05:11:37 PM
is that for real? like seriously, this is something an Obama supporter made to cause controversy right?

/supports Obama.
//still can't believe this was made by someone on hildawgs staff.

DeadZone 2008-05-10 05:16:49 PM
The implied threat in that slideshow isn't that Hillary's more "electable", but that because she wins in places where those congresspeople had close races, she'll provide better coat tails for them to ride on when they want to get re-elected. And if they don't support her, they'll lose their seats, and the Democrats will lose Congress.

Pander Bear is gettin' mighty desperate

Alphax 2008-05-10 05:17:24 PM
Okay, so she'll win the 'tough' districts.. and only them.

Alienating and insulting the educated people doesn't help you, Hillary.

Opiate of the Lasses 2008-05-10 05:18:03 PM
If Hillary can answer me this one question I might be able to entertain her arguments as to why she should continue.

Your argument that Obama will do badly with low income whites in the general is based on your 65-35 advantage during Democratic primaries. Why should we not then also conclude that you will only receive 9% of the black vote in the general election?

phillydrifter 2008-05-10 05:18:03 PM

that is just a whole lot of stupid. If this is really Hillary's argument, how is she going to beat McCain who is now winning all the primaries by 75%, when the primaries she wins, she only takes about 65%
