Deer are all over western Washington state, they are very, very stupid too. Sure they are cute like Bambi but they eat everything in sight, like a goat. Dont be fooled! They will eat every last bit of nice flowers/plants/everything in your yard and all you will do is tear your hair out.

Big male dogs can be surprisingly paternal and good. My cousin's cat decided to go do cat stuff after having her last litter and their Great Dane/Shar-pei mix, Duke, stepped up to raise them. He could be seen carrying them about the house, keeping them warm at night, teaching them how to hunt dog toys...it was the most adorable thing ever. God, I miss that dog.

My Alexei was one of said kittens...he still makes a weird barky noise when strangers come to the door. Fetches things, too. Bet the deer learns a few weirdly doglike tricks.
