To identify the "Neil Young" spider as a new species, the scientists examined both its physical features and genetic material. In general, taxonomists rely on differences in genitalia to distinguish one spider species from another.

When I look closely at a spider -- and I do sometimes -- I don't think "hey, those genitalia look like Neil Young's!" And I don't think I am any less of a man for that.

I saw Neil Young on his Greendale tour in Boston. They did a dramatization of the album and then he came out and did a full set encore. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

Neil Young isn't even remotely creepy. WTF?

Awesomest (new window) for it sheer, unadulterated garage-band-ocity.

Have you guys seen/heard Year of the Horse. That is one of my favorite NY live recordings.

Danger Bird is an amazing song. Cant find a video of it though.

Entwistle's nickname was Ox. Subby is trying too hard.

I just figured subby was referring to Entwistle's signature tune, "Boris the Spider." Maybe you're not trying hard enough.

You know, people use the word creepy way too often and incorrectly.

Pedophiles, rapists, murderers. They are creepy.

Neil Young is an icon. You creep.

neil young is the kind old grandfather of grunge. he's about as un-creepy as it gets. and, yes - ha ha - we get the boris the spider reference, clevermitter. now eat a bowl of dicks.

Wow. It's just a live performance of "Farmer John." I can't imagine why there would be a problem. It's not like it's "Louie Louie."

Picture of the spider here (too lazy to host and post it). Discovering a new species and giving it a funny name must be the highlight of any biologists career.

/not that there is anything wrong with that

Neil is a little creepy when he starts his spastic guitar playing thing that looks like he's being tased in small amounts in random intervals.

That's pretty cool... way to go, Neil.

/ Mark Knopfler has a dinosaur named after him.

A dinosaur!?

I'm seeing Mark Knopfler this July (the 9th). Weird that I'd randomly a reference to him in a place like this...

/I don't know if that is a joke or not, but either way, it's cool.

One of my peak concert experiences was seeing Neil grabbing his guitar like he had ahold of a writhing bolt of lightning. He was twisting and squeezing it with his hands, the lightning was screaming, it was roaring.

You're seeing him too? Cool. I'm going to his concert on the July 11th

re: dinosaur. Nope, it's not a joke. I read it in two different articles, happened back in 2001 or so.
