.. oh yeah, I have the TOMMY (film) soundtrack, with this song & the other newly written ones (& old ones with the onscreen talent singing).

... on vinyl LP, of course

She was still sexy as all hell in Grumpy Old Men.

That movie sucked sooooooo bad, that even The Who hated it.

When it came out, Tommy was one of my favorite albums.
Well done and actually kind of ground breaking, but that movie was hideous.

On the album, Tommy's mother has very few lines, and there was nothing about some woman who was considered a "sex kitten" 30 years prior, swimming in pork and beans.

Hell, at that point in her career, she was ready to do donkey shows if only she could get the gig.

I didn't make it through 30 seconds of that clip.

Plenty of fur, but no early morning dew... :(

Check her out in "Kitten with a Whip." It's a stupidly bad movie (might as well watch the MST3K version), but seeing a young Ann-Margret makes you really, really, REALLY appreciate having eyes.

I concur. Album's good, movie's an abomination. I think it's entertaining in a train-wreck sorta way, though. Like an Ed Wood movie.

Not to mention that Ann Margaret and Oliver Reed are atrocious singers.

When I was doing TOMMY on Broadway I tried to circulate a rumor that the "bean machine" was malfunctioning and previews were going to be delayed.

This was unfortunately before the AOL got big so that story never took off.

I really like the movie Tommy.

Or, it might just be that Roger Daltrey is running around shirtless throughout...

I hate that movie.. what a piece of crap.. the lyrics are all sing song rhyming garbage.. the music sucks.. it's just a retarded waste of the Who and everybody else in it. The Clapton scene...are you farking kidding me... nothing makes me sicker than some limey idiot singing boring repetitive blues and trying to come off like he's some authentic blues man.. all the singing is in the shiatty monotone of people who can sing being coached through it .. I HATE THAT MOVIE.. they saw Sgt Pepper and thought they could cash in.. fark Pete Townsend.. fortunately Pink Floyd gave us all eye bleach with The Wall

Only part of the arc that began with "Bye Bye Birdie."

Note to Pete Townsend... the film being a musical does not mean every conversation and trivial exchange has to be sung...

that said I'd hump Ann Margaret whilst neck deep in beans and chocolate
