More than one more Judas:

Former top Clinton administration aide Leon Panetta told KGO TV in San Francisco, "It's pretty clear unless there's a bolt of lightning, Barack Obama is likely to win the Democratic nomination. She's put up a good fight and put up a good race, but I think there's a time now where she needs to concede and unify the party."

Damn.

Seriously, I don't understand why it's "over" when Obama doesn't have enough delegates to put him over the top.

All talk about "stealing" the nomination via superdelegates is nonsense. The superdelegates were created to deal with precisely this kind of situation, where, come the end of the primaries, nobody has enough pledged delegates to win.

That said, I wish the horrid harridan of a harpy would just give up, retire, and deliver us from this pestilence that is the Clintons.

That's a first? What, first-time today you mean? First time on a Friday between 10 and 11 during a waning moon in May? First time since the last time?

If you are playing chess, and you have only your King and a Rook left on the board, you technically still have enough material to win... but if your opponent still has his King, a Rook, his Queen, and three Pawns remaining and has outmaneuvered you the entire game, it is time to accept defeat. Do you really need the game judge to walk over and tell you that you're not going to win?

Because he eventually will have enough delegates and it's virtually impossible for Hillary to do so even if her "strategy" plays out as she envisions.

FTFA: They were particularly unnerved by Clinton's comments earlier this week that appeared to be racially insensitive or racially calculated when she said, "Sen. Obama's support among working, hardworking Americans, white Americans, is weakening again."

At this point the Democratic party as a whole doesn't need her to be gracious. Her "Hillaryis44" followers will stick with her for life and will probably write her in in November. Her remaining supporters know she can't win and will vote for Obama.

All she is doing now is hurting her own legacy and that of her husband. Maybe she can even kill this "Clinton Dynasty" crap. And I used to support her husband as president and I used to think (2007) that she might be an ok president herself.

I don't know how well a double-minority ticket would go, especially with him being Hispanic and anti-immigrant sentiment being what it is.

Ed Rendall of PA would be a good choice.

My dad is the only person I know who's pro-Hillary.

He's a very hard worker- he's a truck driver and in this late 60's he still works 10 hr days. He's very thrifty, because as a young man he had three children and no financial security. He did graduate from high school, and his proud that all three of his children went to college.

But yesterday, in public, he joked about how if Obama were elected president, we'd have to put a rib shack next to the white house, and plant cotton in the rose garden, and he didn't understand why was so upset with him.

Seriously? You really don't understand even though you read fark political threads and have access to google?

Do you need some links? There have been hundreds of articles explaining it for weeks now. You could also check out any of the handy delegate calculators available.

I'd be happy to help you out but doubt very much that I can make the math any more accessible to you than it already is. Are you math challenged? Because if basic arithmetic is too difficult for you I could try to explain it in another way.

SHE CAN'T WIN NOW
ergo

Only if enough superdelegates break his way.

As I expect they will, but there's no sure-fire guarantee of that.

He won't have enough of the pledged delegates following the primary season to clinch the nomination. Expect some vigorous and vicious arm-twisting.

The Clintons are ruthless, cold-blooded bastards.

Saying something is so doesn't necessarily make it so.

Wrong, QuickDraw, she CAN win, but it would be brazen, breathtakingly brazen, and she'd all but assuredly lose the general election, and probably destroy the party for years.

All of which means nothing to the demented biatch.

All I'm pointing out is that nothing has been settled yet. And I wouldn't put anything past the godawful Clintons and their demonic quest for power.

Sure, but they have no bullets left in their gun. Democrats have done whatever the Clintons have said for twenty years because they were powerful and vengefull. But what can either of them do to a lowly superdelegate now?

In six months there will be a new leader of the Democratic party, and Bill will get to hang with Jimmy Carter.

I expect that will be the case, but I put nothing past these power-crazed nutjobs.

Obama/Richardson would totally nullify McCain's recent outreach to Hispanic voters. Could make the total difference, actually.

Also, given Obama's paucity of experience, having a seasoned pro with lots of executive experience (and foreign policy, too) has to be a plus.

Were I a betting man, I'd put some money on Richardson being on the ticket.

Yup. That's a Hillary voter. He's uneducated, he's white, and he's "hard-working".

No dude. She can't. Not by any metric. Only on Planet Clinton (and apparently in your fevered imagination) can she "win."

Back-room dealing is not the same as "winning."

Now if you want to make a case for stealing the nomination - well I suppose it's possible - but it's also possible that I will find a million dollars lying in the street. That doesn't make it remotely likely.

She is not helped in her efforts to steal the nom by friends like these^.

If you win, it is.

And, you can't have a nomination "stolen" from you if you haven't won it yet.

Yes, I realize it's unlikely, but it's not impossible. And Obama would be a fool to take things for granted at this juncture.

Well you and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on that point.

I do agree that Obama would be a fool to take anything for granted. He would be a bigger fool to ignore the extreme likelihood of his nomination. A GE is something you need to prepare for. It is appropriate at this point that he focus on it.
