Somewhere in an alternate universe, he and Frank Zappa have made babies that blow our farking minds!

Also, I'd like to see he and the Decemberists get together to see if they can make a song that is so sad and melancholy that you literally kill yourself the first time you hear it.

He's skipping Minneapolis? No postcards for him then.

I would've been happier if he'd followed the north star to Canada.

This just made my day.

I'll have to keep an eye out for when the ATL tickets go on sale - right now that date isn't showing up on the Fox's schedule or on Ticketmaster's.

Tom, I know you can read my mind... come to Canada, to Canada, Canada...

Raindogday 2008-05-08 06:22:29 PM
I think he'll come. He usually hits up Toronto and Vancouver at least.

If he comes to Vancouver there'll be a Fark/Tom Waits party at my place. It's a small condo but I'm not expecting more than 2 people and a circus midget.

May 16th. 10 AM. They updated the Fox Theatre site today. No DC (or anything on the east coast for that matter) means it's time to travel...

Damn, PLEASE Tom, come to Reno!

grob 2008-05-08 06:48:24 PM
All right! Tulsa is included in the tour. He'll play at the Old Lady on Brady June 25th. That will be a great venue to see him in.

I'm getting two tickets to the Columbus show. One for me, and one for eBay.
Last time he came through the Midwest, a friend of mine financed a vacation to Puerto Rico by selling off a couple extra Waits tickets he had bought.

/I said bidding will never break $1000.
//I was wrong.

I think he was channeling Gary Busey. Even has the same voice and hairstyle.

Tom Waits has been holding it down like this for damn near 50 years.

This enforces my belief that Foreign Affairs is Waits best album, because it's the most Broadway sounding. The raspy voice and boho antics are elements of his public character. In his heart, I'll bet he's all stage actor.

Buttle not Tuttle 2008-05-08 09:53:24 PM
Damn - no Chicago this time around. Glad I got to see him the last two times he came.

Come on, Tom... we'll put the cows back out.

By the way, someone loaded all of Big Time (in pieces) onto youtube - check it out before they get taken down.

Hell, all the raves Heath Ledger's Joker has gotten? Listen to him. He's playing Tom Waits.

With the barrel of a pretty blue gun.

Agreed.

Absolutely! He rocks the house. Best show I've seen.

I was hoping for the Big Dipper - St. Louis, to Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit. I'll get back to you with a new acronym...Scid?

As much as I hate Tulsa, I'm going up there via stagecoach, if it kills me.

I gotta second that shoutout to Man Man. If you want to see a Tom Waits inspired circus, check out their live show.

Waits sold out the Tabernacle nearly instantly last time in Atlanta, I will NOT miss him again.
