Wow - he really hit the majority of possible "no-nos" here.

Bloody William 2008-05-08 11:28:33 AM
So he has that going for him, which is nice.

Hey, at least with the gay ones you can blame society for making them hide their love away.

Whenever theres another sex scandal with a Repub I hear this song^ in my head.

I'm not sure a pegging is strictly hetero.

patrick767 [TotalFark] 2008-05-08 11:48:32 AM
Meh. It's funnier when the GOP politician catches the gay.

As for the drunk driving, I suppose I could be more forgiving if he was right on .08, but dude was double the limit. That's pretty damn drunk.

Who woulda thunk conservatism was such a potent aphrodisiac.

From TFA: The married congressman was arrested last Thursday after blowing a red light.

I thought smitty said he was hetro!

Wow, from what I've been told, if these are the Republicans, do you have any idea how immoral the Democrats must be?

MasterThief [TotalFark] 2008-05-08 11:54:00 AM
Hmmm... the woman is a retired Air Force officer, marathon runner, and divorcee. (And he knocked her up too!)

Well, at least he had better taste than Vitter and Craig. Aside from that, yeah, GTFO.

/Still... MILF

The DWI is concerning, considering he was at twice the legal limit. I could see voting him out based on that. Dumbass could have killed somebody.

However, I could give a rat's ass who elected representatives fark on the side. If it's not illegal, STFU.

I agree 100% that what they do on the side is irrelevant...but he's a Republican, and Republicans opened the door to that one when they went after Clinton for lying about having an affair...before that it was well-known (at least to people in the gov't and media) that many politicians were screwing around (Kennedy...) but those things were generally kept quiet by both sides. Sorry, but you can't run on the family-values platform, cheat on your wife, and expect not be ridiculed.

Maybe that sickening "family values" crap would stop being a consideration in politics if we all just ignored the extramarital affair/tabloid fodder stuff.

If the Republicans want to make it an issue, let them. It only appeals to voters who aren't going to pay attention to substnative issues anyways. For everyone else, it just makes them look ridiculous.

Anything that perpetuates this "OMG he farked somebody!!1!" thing is bad.

You're preaching to the choir...I don't care who my representatives fark as long as it's legal...but I do believe in exposing hypocrisy as well. The problem is that it does appeal to voters. Gary Hart would probably back me up on that one...Sad fact is that we live in a puritanical country that can't even deal with the horror of seeing naked people on television - it's always going to be an issue.

Um.

And this is the woman speaking FOR him?!

This is all a plan by the GOP to distract the public from the reality that the GOP is a party of public toilet goblins.

Aarontology [TotalFark] 2008-05-08 01:17:37 PM
So you could say the state GOP is trying to... Vito his chances in the fall.

Considering the fact that over 60% of Americans are either overweight, obese or "TOO farkING FAT" I don't mind nudity laws.

Well, it's kinda in the bible and republicans love to pretend like they follow the word of the lord, it's a way to garner votes. So, You take the good, You take the bad, You take them both and there you have the facts of life. The facts of life. There's a time you gotta go and show You're growin' now, You know about the facts of life. The facts of life. When the world never seems,To be living up to your dreams. And suddenly you're finding out, The facts of life are all about you. All about you. You-u-u-u, A-ll about you. It takes a lot to get em right, But you're learnin the facts of life.
Learnin the facts of life. Learnin the facts of life. Learnin the facts of li-fe.

Could NYC lose their last GOP congressman? If not, maybe we should finally just give Staten Island to NJ.

I agree with a lot of people here.

If he's not a big "oh family values are so important, no sex ed because it's immoral" Republican, then I don't care who he's farking.

BUT, if he's one of those moral crusaders (and let's be honest, the majority of Republican legislators) he should farking eat it. Same way I felt about Spitzer. If you want to bag a pros, fine with me, but if you're the damn governor, you better be working to legalize prostitution. If you think it's ok for you to get a hooker but I should go to jail, you deserve to be covered in political shiat.

As for the DUI, that we can all agree is a crime and should be punished.

Arrest for drunk driving, affair involving a single mom, with whom you sired a bastard? I'd think the GOP would actually be relieved they finally have a down home scandal that doesn't involve gay airport bathroom play.

They should be embrassing this dude, not exiling him.

If I was still in college I would love to do a sociology/poli sci paper on sex scandals in politics to see the rates of homosexual to heterosexual scandals in each party. My gut tells me they repubs are teh ghey.

If one is going to wreck one's marriage due to cheating with another woman, one should always make sure said woman is extremely hot and "worth it."

Judging from picture of the woman, Congressman fails.

Methinks that Drew should set up a place for Farkers to post little dissertations like that. But you heard it here first, so I want my cut from it. *cough*free totalfark*cough*

Well to be fair almost every family has some nutcases in it, it's just that with Republicans they tend to be the one they elect.

Here's a post from TFA's thread:

bluepower May 8, 2008 12:03:49 PM Report Offensive Post
This is what happens when we become a society that do not obey rules of law and common decency. We will follow the left wing dems (even though he claims to be Republican just like Bloomberg did) right down the path of destruction. No rules - send us all the illegals, no decency - its okay, I had a few affairs but I will make a great governor, etc., etc. God help us!

As soon as a Republican is arrested for a vice he's really a Democrat. Comedy!!!

The President of Hittin' That Ass 2008-05-08 01:53:23 PM
Either way this country needs to get the fark over its prudish "shock" when powerful, married people fark someone besides their for-appearances spouse. You can ignore nature but it won't ignore you.

I wanna see Repubicans out too, but not like this.

Sid Vicious' Corpse 2008-05-08 01:56:24 PM
Big deal - it was a DUI. Our President has a DUI conviction.

Wait, did he get a BLOW JOB from her??!!! IMPEACH!!!! TOSS HIS SLIMY, DEGERATE BUTT OUT!!!

/You'd think MADD would have chimed in by now.
// Any idea why MADD never pushed to get the records on Dubya's DUI conviction?

Nobody gave a damn about Clinton getting some on the side until he raised his hand and swore to tell the truth in a civil sexual harassment deposition. All he had to do was say "Yeah...the fat biatch blew me." But no...instead, he lied under oath. You can continue to try to make the outrage about the sex, but that's really not fair. Don't lie under oath. Don't lie under oath. Don't lie under oath.

This guy was also co-sponsor of legislation to make drunks criminally liable for injuring others while driving drunk. Aren't hypocrits great? If allowed to continue would probably seek to outlaw extra-marital affairs...

Typical White Person: Nobody gave a damn about Clinton getting some on the side until he raised his hand and swore to tell the truth in a civil sexual harassment deposition.

His answer was semantically correct. Oral sex was not, per the deposition text, considered "sexual relations."

What about all the heterosexual women this Congressman didn't fark?
