Before you go slagging her, fathom this: Toni Tenille sang backup on Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

Check the liner notes.

Oh I got that. She can sing. But that doesn't really excuse the fact that tripe like this was responsible for laying the future groundwork for much bad music.

I was going to point this out. My memory may be faulty, but I seem to remember an interview with her in which she didn't really want to talk about it, like she didn't want to be associated with
the album.

Not to threadjack, but I used to love watching The Midnight Special. Probably 10 or 11 when I would first stayed up to watch in the mid-70s. Man, things aren't the way they used to be.

oh, and btw, I heard that all her parts were actually scrapped from "The Wall" although she and some of the Beach Boys, I think, did record some vocals...who knows if it's really true?!?!

Her key to a long healthy life? Muskrat Love.

As much as I hated their music, when I was 14 I wanted to split her like firewood.

I couldn't swear how much of her vocals made it in, but I'm pretty sure she's the female voice at the beginning of "One of My Turns". ("Are all these your guitars?" Etc.)

Yeah, Toni Tennille and Elizabeth Montgomery on reruns were my favorites back in the day. Those two together...uh....brb.

Tripe ?

It's just pop music, really good pop music.

And what's more impressive, is that she gives a spot on vocal performance while playing 2 instruments (and smiling) !

ClintBartonWannabe 2008-05-08 02:34:48 PM
Okay kids, what that was was music being actually played by the performer. It was NOT a sample of someone else's music looped on a track with some additional effects and drum beats added and then the vocals digitized to hide the fact the vocalist has no real talent.

And she was a cheerleader at Auburn too.

/War Eagle.

FWIW, this song rocks.

On the flip side, last Friday I decided to torture my fellow workers by e-mailing them this link.

Man,

That show had the Bionic watermelon.

They had a pickup truck of mexican workers full of watermelons, and a watermelon fell off.

The put a transistor radio in him and he started solving crimes. A watermelon with cop shades, a red bandana, and a revolver.

God help me, I love that song.

SIXPACK was the last movie my family saw together before my
father descended into an alchol-fuelled hell of his own making.

That should have told me something.

Not sure about Toni Tennille, but I'd bet Elizabeth Montgomery would be a dead fark. She'd probably just lay there.

Delawheredad 2008-05-10 01:27:21 AM
Old enough to have lusted after her in the seventies. The music was pap but they really could entertain. Back in the day musicians actually played their own instruments and instead of rap there was cool funk that everyone who was hip could enjoy.

I'd always heard that not only was that Toni on The Wall, but that she was the one who said "Are these all your guitars?" on "One Of My Turns". Wikipedia with citation says that's not so.
