Yeah, I was wondering WTF a Big Mac (albeit a pretty one, one you'd never see even at a corporate-owned McDonald's) was doing for an article about BBQ... :/

/OMG GENERIC FOOD PIC, I guess

Fantastic story. And seriously, they couldn't have found a pic of the place, or the guy, or at least something BBQ?

There was a big New Yorker article about this guy sometime within the last year. Really interesting stuff.

That's not beef, that's ground up grass fed north koreans. It's not hypocrisy, it's symmetry.

burgers...at a bbq joint....does not compute. Oh, well y'all damn yankess use bbq as a verb I guess. But it's not.

BBQ is pork. Smoked nice and tender. Served wet or dry. Too bad I just moved away from Memphis this week, the BBQ Festival is in about two weeks, and that thing is a freaking BLAST.

Chips, pulled pork or chicken (I prefer pork), cheese sauce, BBQ sauce and dry rub. It sounds odd, and looks suspect, but is farking delicious. They sell them everywhere in Memphis, but the best are from the Rendezvous, but sold at Redbirds baseball games. Goes great with a 32oz frosty beer.

New Jersey BBQ? Probably about as good as the Mexican food I had in Scotland.

Memphis dry rub and cold smoked pork ribs is where it's at.

North Jersey is for people who can't afford to live in New York or too stupid to live in the South. South Jersey is WAY better for cost of living, lifestyle, shopping, or cool places to hang out. Nine times out of ten, people dissing on the south have never been, or are clinically retarded.

You should try the ...well, actually, pretty much any and western food type here in Korea. Mexican, BBQ, Italian, American...all exceedingly popular here and all amazingly terrible. Even the chains suck. Outback of Korea; koreanized americanized not-really aussie food. Eating crappy steak there, $50. Completely surreal experience, priceless. Sorta.

Seriously though, mexican food here needs help.

They got the asian foods down, no suprise there, but eating that every day gets old, to say the least.

My friend got a an order of tacos in what appeared to be an upscale tex-mex restaurant in Edinburgh. They came swimming in their own little half-inch of unseasoned hamburger grease, stale shells, unripe tomatoes, and buried under about a pound of shredded iceberg lettuce. The salsa was basically tomato sauce that had never been within a mile of onions or peppers.

And it was not cheap.

Even the cafeteria she-trolls in my junior high couldn't fark up tacos that bad.

As a lifelong North Jersey resident, who has visited South Jersey many times and went to school down there, I say fark you. First off, you can't speak properly (it's HOME, not HEUME; PHONE, not PHEUNE; and WTF is "water ice"?) Secondly, I'll grant you that it's nice to look at... if you don't mind driving 45 minutes to the nearest gathering place. Finally, what the hell is in South Jersey? I'm being serious... I don't know what the hell you have down there, aside from the Shore. Please enlighten me.

This may explain our difficulties with religious governments that forbid pork and alcohol. How can we expect peace without barbecue and beer?

Now if we could just get the Iranians to start smokin that Cali weed, and the Russians to drink some of our bourbon, we could bridge all our gaps through non violent measures and get pretty wasted in the process.

"Now I'm a pretty smart guy," he continued, "and I didn't know what the f*** she was talking about. The bottom line is that this administration wants nothing to do with North Korea." That is perturbing to Egan, who stumbled into a unique relationship with Pyongyang through his efforts to find US soldiers missing since the Vietnam war.

he has it spot on. The only time Bush even first attempted engagement with NK was after NK got the plutonium nuke, and at which point was a PR emergency for him.

It is time for our BBQ brothers and sisters to come together. Whether eastern or western NC, Chicago, Memphis, or any of the other variants, BBQ is a gift from God, and we should all stand around the temple of the grill, with our cold beer, paper plates laden with our favorite "Q" and say Hallelujah! Mazel Tov! Cheers! Skol! Prost! Allah Akbar! Hell yeah!

There are at least 3 Memphis BBQ places run by Memphitian, and 2 places run by post-Katrina NewOrleans migrant restaurateurs.

But Cubby's aint' so hot, prefer White Manna myself.

For real deal southern slow smoked southern BBQ in NJ, go to Bourbon BBQ on Goffle road in Wyckoff. Owner/chef is from Louisville, KY, and the pulled pork is authentic like i've had in the south.
