Ghastly: If you think this is good you should have seen the headline I almost got greenlit.

Whatever. I actually got the best greenlit headline ever, but it was so good that I decided redlight it myself, as I didn't want the internets to be over.

Actually, I got the greatest greenlight ever but it was so good that it overloaded the Fark servers with its awesomeness so I went back in time and didn't submit it thus saving Fark.

What is this "HGV" vehicle, whose driver the police are "keen" to speak with? And why? Pretty obvious the driver of the crash vehicle just fell asleep, aint it?

/HumonGous Van?

Well, if you must know, it was I who submitted the best headline ever. I'd tell you about it, but I have to be at the gym in 26 minutes...

Were there any Paladins around?

HGV - Yes I googled it.

"Hypersonic Glide Vehicle"

I took the initiative and invented the internet.

That is a correct usage of 'careered'. Go look it up.

tealsmurf 2008-05-04 03:45:10 PM
The whole experience sounds pretty in tents.

Highroller48 [TotalFark] 2008-05-04 03:46:42 PM
That headline was refreshingly original, witty and unique. Well done, Subby.

IIRC, large commercial transport trucks in the U.K. are often referred to as "HGVs" or Heavy Goods Vehicles. Basically, a Semi.

Virulency 2008-05-04 03:59:38 PM
40 tons 2ft, 60 tons 6 in, then 100 tons on my foot?

politech 2008-05-04 04:10:26 PM
You Farkers should have seen the one that got away!

The men, from Hartlepool, were camping beside Auchenreoch Loch, Crocketford, nine miles from Dumfries

I sometimes wonder about the suicide rate of British mail carriers..

Masterdog 2008-05-04 04:35:45 PM
FTA: The lorry landed just two feet from one of the men's tents

Well that must have made his tent disappear pretty quick.

maniacnf 2008-05-04 04:39:31 PM
Lawl. Seriously though, why is it that the only logical thing to do after a near-death experience is to go home and get drunk?

studebaker hoch 2008-05-04 05:00:13 PM

I didn't even bother to read TFA. I just loved the headline. Good job!

jfarkinB [TotalFark] 2008-05-04 06:33:15 PM
We'd better be seeing this headline again at the end of the year. Glorious.

simpsonfan 2008-05-04 06:36:47 PM
If it had hit the tent, they'd have had to gut and clean it.

Was that before or after you killed Hitler?

Why was Laurie driving the truck? Laurie can barely drive a car, what's she doing in a truck? It's not a girl, it's a wha...? Jeez you people are screwed up!

So why are you measuring the weight of the truck in Tony's? What happened to pounds? Did you have to change it, because you goofs are calling your money pounds. OK, why Tony's? It's a wha...? Come on, speak English, already!
