I would say: because it is a title. Similar to how you could call him Mister Bergman or Mister. Or how about Dr. Bergman or Doctor. Get it?

I call the doctor "Doctor" to his face; not when I'm speaking about him in the third person. FAIL.

And when I ran track and cross-country, nobody referred to the coach as just plain "Coach".

So my question stands: when did this happen?

I'll bat he was, based on the article. Does this single incident make him a homersexual? Hit seems it might, unless someone changes up their story. Glad the coach got caught.

rabidarmadillo24 2008-05-04 12:56:26 AM
So, my question is, did any of the players come forward and say that this is what happened, or is the some of that he said he said type of stuff?

I hope all of his previously abused players start coming out of the woodwork and sue the loser fark and the college into bankrupcty and disgrace. Instead of hiding behind his mommy's lawyer's skirt, he should just DIAF, self-inflicted.

I read an interesting thing a while back. During the 80s, one of the big talkshow events (Phil Donahue, I think) had a special on those claiming childhood abuse by Catholic priests. Viewers were so enraged and filled with disbelief at the prospect that death threats and vulgar messages began pouring to the studios. Audiences literally could not believe that (a) priests would ever do that and (b) that it would not have surfaced to a greater extent before.

These days, of course, it's become so widely known that jokes are pretty commonplace.

/Bit of a tangent, but I find that oddly fascinating

No. Home run. After a bat it doesn't matter what you're packing, it's gonna be a painless home run. No KY required.

It's been done on every team I've ever played on. It's not anything new, and if it bothers you you need to get a new hobby.

Wow, you've really made an ass of yourself today.

In the U.S. (and many other cultures) it is appropriate to refer to a person by their title: Sir, Mr., Dr., Prof...

Ah yes, the Louima thing was bad news.

The way they told everyone the cops had been convicted, then two years later quietly dismissed the charges, was one of the worst judicial maneuvers I've ever seen in the United States.

holiday_inn_in_cambodia, rabidarmadillo24, Begoggle:

I've seen this on the news, and there's been no reports of anything about the players coming forward. Personally, I believe it's because earlier this year a football player died and then it was later revealed that many of the players had been saying that the coach was there when he shouldn't have been, that evidently the training was much harder than rules allow it to be, that it wasn't actually "voluntary" training, blah blah blah, and that UCF had been covering it up. So instead of dealing with another media frenzy, they'd nip it in the bud... and fail horrifically

/ Not the biggest fan of UCF
// Still wonders what they were thinking with the new stadium
/// Wok / Trampoline ftw!!
// SLASHIES //
