That's exactly what I was thinking. I have this certain...how should I say it...frame of reference when it comes to politics. Most people play by these "rules" or whatever. This woman is completely hilarious. I think if she did this on the Senate floor she could talk for months--everyone would be incredibly confused. They wouldn't know what to do. When you ask someone to stop talking, they usually (and slightly rudely) finish their sentence or point in very fast talk, and then yield. Responding with "No, shut up" would blow their minds.

The problem IMO stems from the view among many in the black community that being well spoken, polite, and educated is somehow betraying your race. The politicians in Detroit have preyed on this mentality by turning every election in to an "us" vs. "them" battle. That's how Detroit ended up with the hip-hop mayor... It's pathetic, but I'm one of "them" so what the hell do I know.

Little glimmers of hope like that give me hope that the black community may still become a functioning and stable part of America.
