I almost wish I'd seen it, but pretty tame all in all.

Nice exit:
I actually have no security here ... the power of prayer protects me.

Nice to see Moore reign himself in enough to sound completely serious (but without being humourless).

I thought he choked on a ham sandwich.

/sorry Momma Cass, you had more talent than Moore

My opinion is just an amalgamation of other peoples' opinions with no critical review or analysis.

So Michael Moore supports Obama, does he? Well, I won't hold that against Obama. It's not his fault.

Obama just said 'chinks' on Olbermann!

Tanishh 2008-05-01 10:39:20 PM
He backed him a number of days ago. Old news, subby.

Also, as has been said, judge the candidate, not those who support them. If you don't like Moore that's fine, but don't pretend Obama is somehow worse for tolerating that endorsement.

Is this Reverend Wright II: Electric Bugaloo? For the love of god let's hope he doesn't get a film out by election day.

/He porbably will though, and do talk shows etc., praising Obama whilst stroking his own ego.
//This makes me a sad Obam-whatever suffix we're adding now.

well, it's not really obamas fault I guess.

I am anxiously awaiting Michael Moore's hearth attack. He has got to realize that he is a tremendous bullshiatter. It takes serious balls to just knowingly come out and say things that are untrue or gross misrepresentations of reality.

All that talk about Moore and how he's all Catholic and shiat and not a single question about Hagee.

/god bless the media?
//No, GodDAMN THE LIBERAL MEDIA!!!1!!

/I purposely avoided watching this on teevee...anyone know if the subject of Hagee calling Moore's Church the Great Whore of Babylon came up?
//or just Jeremiah Wright?

Michael Moore pisses me off. In general terms, I agree with him. I may have differences when it comes to specifics, but, in broad terms, I'm with him.

I also think he is very smart and very talented. Very VERY in both cases.

I really wish he'd stop trying to be so fkn "provocative." You've got talent, Mike, use it. He deliberately pokes people in the eye with sharp sticks, then expresses amazement when they get defensive.

Kind of like Ben Stein, only Moore is better at it (admit it, creationist freaks, it's true). I guess my point is - what's the saying? - you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, or something like that?

Dial it down, Mike - it's fine to get belligerent judgmental when your just some anonymous dick on FARK, but when you've got the kind of reach that you do, try formulating a nice, convincing argument, even if it means throwing less red meat to fellow Bush-haters (like me).

/kind of a random rant - sorry - didn't see him on King or anything, just a general irritation I've always had with the guy.

WFern 2008-05-01 11:03:19 PM
Shaggy_C: Michael Moore is FAT so we don't have to listen to him.

I know you were joking, but the shocking thing is that he isn't "obese" any longer. After Sicko (great film, by the film), he did a lot to get himself in shape. He's still chubby, but he looks ten-times better than that photo.

RanDomino 2008-05-01 11:08:16 PM
Too bad Fahrenheit 9/11 was a conspiracy theory. It would have been more effective just as a roundup of all the publicly available information that clearly showed that the March to War was BS.

the_good_reverend_doctor 2008-05-01 11:11:16 PM
Michael Moore absolutely irks plenty of people; but he's plenty popular with the younger crowd, and they're a huge part of Obama's base.

It's doubtful that Obama would be negatively affected by this. BTW, could it be argued that Moore may help Obama with the working class white vote? Can it be assumed that Moore, being from Flint, Michigan, and who's covered issues including healthcare and plant closures may bave some sway with older, blue collar voters?

Dull Cow Eyes 2008-05-01 11:14:48 PM

Michael Moore basically appeals to the types who get their view of politics & history from Oliver Stone films. EVERYTHING's a conspiracy. He switched over from Champion of the Downtrodden to Self-Aggrandizing Propagandist long ago.

To be fair... Moore made me laugh once It was in the movie "Arthur"

Sorry had to do it.
He actually made me laugh when he stood in front of the Pillip Morris national headquarters with a megaphone and asked, "What did Phillip Morris die of?"

Other than that, I think he's a nut.

Fireproof 2008-05-01 11:35:43 PM
This may be the first Presidential candidate that Moore endorses that actually wins. He endorsed Brown in '92, Nader in 2000, Wesley Clark in 2004 and then Kerry when Clarke lost. He clearly holds a LOT of influence.

/Never heard who he endorsed in 1996, but I'd assume it's Clinton if he endorsed anyone.

i started hating moore when he did that retarded scene in bowling for columbine, where he goes to sarnia and other southern ontario areas and claims they are a canadian "ghetto".

Ever since then i've seen him as a big fat attention whore. And a liar too.

http://www.brocku.ca/maplibrary/atlas96/onhseinc.PDF

Just look at that. I can assure you - that is not a Canadian ghetto.

Also, I had a good chuckle when looking at his Wiki page.

"Controversies"

Main article: Michael Moore controversies

(On said article)

"Fahrenheit 9/11"

See also: Fahrenheit 9/11 controversy

/The stuff about what he said about Cuban refugees is pretty bad.

BoozePenguin 2008-05-01 11:54:48 PM
In his 1997 best-selling book Downsize This!, Moore wrote about Miami's Cuban exiles as "always present and involved . . . in every incident of national torment that has deflated our country for the past three decades," including as examples the Kennedy assassination, Watergate, Iran-Contra and the drug-abuse epidemic. Moore has also referred to Cuban exiles as "Batista supporters" and "wimps" who were wrong not to immediately send home child-boater Elián González. Regarding that controversy, Moore called Elián's mother a child abuser for taking the boy to sea

Wow.

Just wow.

Also, he's not from Flint. Flint is the poor town where the blue collar workers live. Moore is from the next town over, the 98% white one where all the executives live.

But he's still a liar.

The_Sponge: /He's a farking elitist.

And you're a fkn tool.

"elitist!" said the little sponge, than pranced about a bit before singling out another person with whom he did not completely agree. He stopped, as if to consider, but, no! It was quite clear! He too was elitist! ""You're an elitist" said the little sponge, totally oblivious to the irony that feeling one's self qualified to designate who or what is or is not elitist, is, in fact, quite elitist. But he was merely a sponge...absorbent and yellow and porous...but not too terribly bright.

But he does so enjoy skipping about and parroting the latest buzzwords! Perhaps tomorrow Hillary, the RNC and Rush will give him a new one - maybe a whole phrase - rhyming or perhaps alliterative! The drones especially love alliteration and rhyme..."as do I," admitted the sponge, sheepishly. "That would be oh so swell!"

Spongey looks forward to that day, but he is quite happy to prance about repeating "elitist! elitist!" for now. Because even if such words ricochet harmlessly of the carapace of undecided democrats or democrat leaning readers of FARK political threads...it still warms his heart so...like record oil profits and Presidential codpieces.

I just call them like I see them, pal.

Michael Moore claims he's a champion of blue collar workers, but he spends his days living in lavish New York City apartment.

He's a hypocrite and a fraud.

So, let's see, Spike Lee and Michael Moorecakeplease. So it's the odd-numbered weeks in the month when we give a rat's about celebrities' political opinions? I can never remember.

I thought they were all spoiled irrelevant dimwits and need to STFU (except Charlton Heston, of course. But he's dead... sorry bout that.)

BuckTurgidson: I thought they were all spoiled irrelevant dimwits and need to STFU (except Charlton Heston, of course. But he's dead... sorry bout that.)

I think the hatred of celebrities comes out of a sheer sense of jealousy. The Republicans may have many powerful businessmen and women at the upper echelons of power in the party, but they don't get name recognition for squat. Plus, they make less money than a celebrity. It's threatening to their cozy world of superiority.

I wanna see just how many socialists/communists and super far left loons wind up standing behind Obama. He's not America's first serious Black candidate, he's America's first serious Red candidate.

gotta love seeing a pure Marxist so close to getting the dem. nomination.

// COMRADES!!! Good news from the western front!!!
