Every time I see a video of her, or read a speech, I get the feeling that she doesn't have a clue about what she's talking about/already said/ her political stances are.

Anyone else get that vibe?

Naw, she just can't keep her lies straight. She sits their straining to look like she gives a shiat about the little people and occasionally [i.e. here] fails.

I think you are missing that Senator Clinton is rather generously offering to increase her taxes and others in her bracket so that the middle class and less fortunate will have more opportunity and ability to increase the quality of their lives. Its something like a 6.5% increase over what it is now, those that saw the whole interview would know that.

Shame on her and Obama however for legitimizing Faux as a news source.

There's plenty of dirt to throw at Clinton if Obama wanted to - she's actually very vulnerable to negative campaigning, but she hasn't had to face any yet. If, by some miracle she actually wins the primaries, the republicans will eat her alive.

I'm no Hillary supporter, but it seems from her tone it's possible that she's saying that rich people have the obligation to try to improve the quality of life for the next generation.

Or she could just be an elitist snob. I don't really care either way.

Exactly. Obama doesn't like to play like that. McCain will gleefully dive right into the mud puddle with her.

You're missing my point. Right now, we're seeing how Obama is dealing with a candidate (and a media, IMHO) that's going excessively negative on him. No one's gone negative on Clinton, yet she's still got plus 50% negatives from likely voters. A few weeks in front of the republican attack machine and she'll look like she's gone through a woodchipper.

No one's gone negative on Clinton,

Yeah I think thats horseshiat. If you're new to fark, all you have to do is go through some of these threads to find plenty of Pro Obama supporters tearing her down from every angle. Not only that, Clinton has been under constant attack since the primaries started, when there were more than 2 candidates vying for the dem nom.

Further, this "new road to victory" is a figment of the imagination that isn't backed up by demographics. You can't lose 70% of catholics, 70% of women and the 40+ crowd, lose the spanish, and the blue collar vote - and expect to cruise to a national victory in the baby boomer generation we have. 18-30 year olds do not make a super majority. In addition, had Rev Wright surfaced before Iowa and New Hampshire, there would never have been a contest at all.

Magorn 2008-05-01 09:34:37 PM
According to her Campaign's daily conference call what she really Said was "rich people God has blessED us" and by that she meant that because they had lots of money and stuff they needed to pay more taxes.

I shiat you not that's what they said (new window)(min 20:12 to 21:51) today

Alright, let me repeat what others have said in this thread:

This movie misrepresents what Clinton actually was advocating.

While it is sweet, sweet retribution, it isn't appropriate and is part of the politics I hope we can do away with. Which is why Obama has all of my support.

Ahh yes, I forgot that Fark is of course, an example of the mainstream media! how foolish of me!

Hillary hasn't yet had to face a negative candidate or negative media attention. Compare how Obama's "Bitter" comment was handled to Clinton's "sniper" comment - one was a poor choice of adjective used once, the other was a totally fabricated story told multiple times. Which got the most attention?

Rovian: Further, this "new road to victory" is a figment of the imagination that isn't backed up by demographic

Just because someone votes for Clinton in the primary doesn't mean they are banned from voting for Obama in the general. Voters will generally fall behind the candidate the primaries choose. This is incidentally, unbelievably obvious Politics 101 stuff.

Certainly, I am one of those voters. But the 40 and over crowd leaves a lot to be unsure about. The kind of people that are resistant to change, the type that may just vote for someone that seems more familiar to them, even if only on a superficial level. Roll that into Rev. God-Damn America, and the results from Pennsylvania and Democrats have every reason to see how things shake out between now and the convention.

I got to go work out. Back later.

For that reason, I'm not entirely sure this is truly Democrat vs. Republican. It's Boomers vs. Gen X. Older Dems may fall away from Obama, younger Republicans match by becoming Obamicans.

Eh....who cares?

I mean Clinton says plenty of dumb shiat, but she likes rich people. Number one, that isn't a bad thing and number two, is anyone actually suprised that she has that stance? I am not a wealthy man, but I think that most people who decry the rich are a bunch of farking hypocrites. Fact is that 90% of people who say they don't like rich people, would suddenly change their tune if they were offered a situation where they brought in seven figures a year.

What I don't like is corporate welfare, bank bailouts that sacrifice our currency for the sake of a few, and wars being started so the administrations drinkin buddies can have their stock rise. Becoming wealthy or more wealthy by those means is total crap.

And the coffee machine thing was hilarious. She is such a tool. As a fun side note, someone asked her if she drank Red Bull to stay awake on the campaign trail and she said "What's that?"

Woman of the common people indeed.
