Great find, smitty, wtg.

Ive got a vinyl bootleg of this if anyone's interested.

And Bob IS the best; for all you haters that biatch about his
voice and singing style you're missing the point.

Go read Chronicles and watch No Direction Home and learn a few things.

I'm gonna have to shut down the studio unless you walk to Queens and get me a Sugar Cookie.

I love Dylan. He has been a huge inspiration and influence for me. I made this in Illustrator just the other day. Seems appropriate to post it.

That's "I Threw It All Away" from Nashville Skyline.
Not his best record, but interesting if you're a Dylan obsessive.

Heard a Dylan song for the first time at a concert.

It was "John Brown", and I could understand every single word.

"John Brown" is a pretty powerful song. You can get on the Gaslight Tapes (released as "Live at the Gaslight 1962" in 2005 - a cool snapshot of early Dylan with lots of traditional folk and blues) or on his 1995 Unplugged Album, which is supposedly not that great.

I've always liked Nashville Skyline. Once you get over the initial shock of how different his voice sounds, it's a great album. It's certainly not as serious as anything else he put out in the 60's, but it's so much fun to listen to that I don't really care. It's also my favorite Dylan album cover - that stupid smile on his face gets me every time.

His Nashville Skyline voice reminds me of Mac Davis. It certainly was an affectation. He was done with being Bob the Prophet, and this phase foreshadows and informs Neil Young's Harvest period. When Dylan heard Heart Of Gold, he said, "that should be me".
