The trolls are out early today.

Personally, my salary has gone up nearly 50% in the last 5 years. Had two kids, got a new house, and life has been pretty good. Thanks for asking.

OlafTheBent [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 07:36:28 AM
The thing about beating your head against the wall, is that it feels so good when you stop...

/That's all I got this morning... off to cafinate.

I can hardly wait to witness the amount of mental masturbation the libs will contribute to this thread.

/no, not really

Satan_Sunburn: I can hardly wait to witness the amount of mental masturbation the libs will contribute to this thread.

I had heard that Republicans like you enjoy it when someone masterbates on them... didn't really believe it until your admission.

/Go figure...

The Onanist [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 07:49:43 AM
My job was sent to India. I got a divorce, and now I have a foreclosure on my credit history due to no fault of my own (my X-wife defaulted after gaining the house in the divorce settlement - It's a long, ugly story).

Oh yeah, my dad just died, too, after a battle with brain cancer.

Thanks for asking.

lexnaturalis 2008-05-01 07:51:11 AM
I got a great job, got married, had a kid, and bought a house. My life's been good.

Wow, from zero to stoopid in just a little under 7 minutes. Pretty impressive.

PC LOAD LETTER [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:00:46 AM
The war is supported by farking stupid idiots, the economy is in the tank, the nation's future is bleak at best, but at least I did well in the last 5 years.

Remember: who cares as long as you are doing well, right?

Dancin_In_Anson [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:02:27 AM
Had some good times, had some not so good times.

It's called life. Deal with it or check out.

Flyinglemur [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:03:05 AM
Well I've been watching my friends get deployed to a desert (weird since I am in the Navy) and have been learning a lot about Combat Stsress and PTSD from the patients that come to our treatment facility.

darkyn [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:03:18 AM
"President Bush is well aware that the banner should have been much more specific and said 'mission accomplished' for these sailors who are on this ship on their mission,"

Riiiiiight.

Complicit [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:14:12 AM
Pointing out the pomposity and ineptitude of this event can hardly be considered trolling. It deserves to be called out, scrutinized, and chastised for being the sham that it was.

The Shatner Incident 2008-05-01 08:18:29 AM
Being witness to the military life, going through two deployments totaling 25 months here at home while my husband was fighting in Iraq, and spending every anniversary apart since 2003 while witnessing his brothers-in-arms come home broken and sometimes dead while their families suffer from the aftereffects. As you can deduce, fan-farking-tastic. *eyeroll*

kronicfeld [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:19:27 AM
George W. Bush raped my dog while pouring sugar in my gas tank.

Satan_Sunburn 2008-05-01 08:26:41 AM
Nestea Plunge: Funny how it's the cons and neo-cons who gleefully send young people off to die to make them feel tough claim it's the libs who are at fault.

Actually, the 'cons and neo-cons' should have been more aggressive and sent more troops to begin with.

Aside from the recent wafer thin majority of Democrats in congress

I just love the way you marginalize this. Spot on!

poor or no planning for the occupation of Iraq

Fair enough.

poor or no treatment from corrupt VA organizations for injured soldiers

R's fault? Is the VA an exclusively R run organization? Who knew?

extending tours

See my first remark.

To clusterfark the largest and best armed forces in the world, nationbuilding a place they destroyed under orders of Bush, is a serious missallocation of military resources.

Exactly, nation building is what the UN *cough* is for. And they're doing a hell of a job.

eddyatwork [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 08:35:03 AM

You're lucky. Dick Cheney tied me to a bed, stole all the money out of my wallet, and defecated on my chest. The police didn't find me for two days.

angryjd 2008-05-01 09:01:46 AM
My salary has gone up %125 in the last five years. I have a house as well. I am also 45 pounds lighter. Suck on that, haters.

Sounds great. Personally things have had their ups & downs over the last five years for myself and family.

Just remember this point. If the Republicans keep up with their current game plan, your kids will have the opportunity to sign up to fight in Iraq too.

DarthBrooks [TotalFark] 2008-05-01 09:05:35 AM
I'm making four times as much money as I was in 2001.

Of course everything costs four times as much, so...

Aside from I'm 5 years older?

Number of children have doubled.
Number of hairs on my head have decreased.
Number of pounds on my belly have increased.

President Bush was right when he declared mission accomplished 5 years ago. We had seized Baghdad and the war had ended.

Unfortunately the insurgency then started. For which he had no plan and for which there is no way to declare victory.

Way to go asshats

SchlingFo 2008-05-01 09:36:06 AM
Personally, I'm doing great.

When my grandkids get stuck with the credit card bill we've racked up over the past 8 years, I'm going to be hating life for them.

But, that's alright. The only thing that's important is immediate, instant gratification.

Here in the U.S., we live life one fiscal quarter at a time!!!

WWII gas rationing, war bonds (extra tax people volunteered to pay)

Iraq II - Personally, my salary has gone up nearly 50% in the last 5 years. Had two kids, got a new house, and life has been pretty good. Thanks for asking.

I weep for America, war has become too easy for the general populace to ignore while soldiers suffer and die

SockMonkeyHolocaust 2008-05-01 09:40:23 AM
Before the stimulus check I didn't have mudflaps on my truck and no XBox in my den. After stimulus check? F*ck yeah I got those.

Good: Graduated college, got a decent job, bought a car, still haven't given up the dream, learned more about myself and the world than I thought possible, met some of the greatest people in the world.

Bad: Got dumped while I was ring shopping, moved to a craphole town downstate, 59 rejection letters, watched a friend deal with PTSD, lost touch with some of the greatest people in the world.

I like to think my life is a work in progress; I'm holding off on making a ruling just yet.

Geez- the admins are in a nasty political mood this morning.

SherKhan 2008-05-01 10:01:32 AM
After being landed on the deck of the carrier in an S-3B Viking 30 miles off the coast San Diego (Ari Fleischer said the president "could have helicoptered," but "he wanted to see a landing the way aviators see a landing"), Mr. Bush appeared in a flight suit to the cheers of the ship's personnel and the glare of television lights.

Man up men, it's time to fess up
Boy George wanted to play dress up
And primp and preen and prance and pose
A bastard basked in cameras' glows

5 years...let's see...moved in with my boyfriend. Graduated college. Currently paying off 40k of loans for said college. Got a crappy post-college job in a crappy Michigan economy. Started putting as much money as possible into my retirement fund. Got married to said boyfriend. Got an awesome job in a still crappy economy. Paying off bills. Would like to buy a house but probably can't afford to since prices are still pretty high for decent houses in this area. Got very involved in politics, partially thanks to an intrepid young newcomer named Obama. All in all, pretty decent.

I am doing a lot better now than five years ago. Bush had nothing to do with that. Just as Clinton had nothing to do with how I did in the 90s.

/Does that count as a but but?

GoodyearPimp 2008-05-01 11:00:48 AM
I've been playing a game that is segmented into distinct parts. "Missions" if you will. When I finished the first mission, the game didn't end.

/There's plenty of slings and arrows to hurl at the current administration, this is just one of the stupidest.
