And look at that! They didn't even mention he was a Democrat until you get all the way to the end of TFA! If that was a Republican you just KNOW that not only would the newspaper have put it in the headline, but so would have smitty.

Meh. He's out of office, so no biggie on that.

On the other hand, when the guy saying "God chose me to explain the 2nd Amendment to you" is a Democrat, that's pretty much evidence that Texas needs its own tag right there, I think all objective people can agree.

I used to live in the district that Craig Washington represented. He was a fun kind of crazy back then but pretty useless in Congress. But talk about a district that has had a steady decline in representation quality since it was created: Barbara Jordan (terrific) => Mickey Leland (good) => Craig Washington (fair to bad) => Sheila Jackson Lee (awful, horrible, terrible).
