Fine with me. Searching schools at random? Get lost, coppers.

Forget steak. Your dog wants 'shrooms.

America has yet to figure this out

hoihoi8 2008-04-25 11:57:28 AM
Yep, we had those random searches my senior year in the US. 1st time bunch of kids got busted. Past that people learned that the safest place to keep their drugs was in their pocket, since we were locked in the classroom and the dogs only sniffed the lockers in the hall.

Who the fark cares? Canada has evil socialized medicine, those godless commie bastards. Of course there liberal, terrorist loving judges will let kids hide drugs in their back packs. Its all part of the plan to turn them gay. They probably let commie traitors talk o the phone without listening to them too!

At least in the land of the free we are tough on this type of terrible crime!

I don't think they can search your person unless there is some type probable cause or threat. The lockers are school property and by putting you stuff in there, you 'consent' to letting them search whenever they damn well please

Of course I only stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so what do I know, you farking godless hippie druggie!

True North Strong and (still) Free, Biatches!

Is the use of dogs by authority figures overly intrusive?

Let's ask this fella...

Quatchi'll assume by the size of the urine stain beneath him that he's answering in the affirmative there.

Terror is a universal language.

Shrooms and Pot should be legal. Period.

Also, I always suspected I could sue for assult if they had a Police Dog bite me. I mean, they consider him an officer, and they tell him to attack an innocent person (if I'm not waving a weapon, and not dangerous, and innocent until proven guilty, I'm innocent at that point).

/I also think taking finger prints of innocent people (innocent UNTIL proven guilty) is a violation, just like taking DNA is. Just like DNA it should require a court order or consent.
//If you are innocent (and set the court decides you are) but they took your prints, they're in the system for ever, but what "don't worry you have nothing to hide if you didn't do anything"?

And that's why Canada is the globe-straddling world power it is today.

/Is that dingbat quatchi ever going to learn to use the perpendicular pronoun?

Side note: Way back in HS, we had one of those 'Various Exhibitions of Neat Things' type day, (The Science Guy came!), one of the presentations was by the local PD. They brought their canine unit, a dummy grenade, and a bag of pot.

The kids didn't make it out with the bag, but someone made off with the 'nade. Cops took the dog locker to locker and found it.

Yeah, we had some retards at our HS.

Plain smell doctrine anyone?

I love our friends to the north regardless. Not being Canadian...yet...I cannot speak to this issue.

I am, however, very pleased that TFA referred to "magic mushrooms".

Don't be rude.

BackAssward: Also, I always suspected I could sue for assult if they had a Police Dog bite me.

Yeah, that's a huge risk. I'm always scared that's gonna happen to me. Whenever I see K-9 units I just immediately start running as fast as I can in the opposite direction, cause they might sic their dog on me.

On second thought, please don't teach me your use of apostrophes, kthx.

Those of us who live in "the land of the free" should be so lucky.

If you are found innocent, you can ask for your finger prints to be destroyed.

That's a good ruling right there. We are all innocent until proven guilty.

phuque you pigs

on the CBC radio they were about to interview a police brass ass who was 'troubled' that human rights won out...

i had to turn the radio off.

rather than listen to another pig explain why more laws, rules, and pigs are better for me than my personal freedom.

Will you guys leave the light on for me?

I might want to move in the near future.

In other news, looking at a backpack is a lot like searching it. Or something like that.

rcsteinbach 2008-04-26 08:41:11 PM
Does that mean in the Empire of America, that tactic will be not only allowed, but be required procedure in every public school?

/hoping for a Canadian Work Visa....soon!

BoozePenguin 2008-04-27 12:02:20 PM
you'll get one if your from the US. We're hungry for american immigrants up here.

Where do you think you'll be heading too? I notice you're from the south west? Should be an interesting experience for you if you choose somewhere COLD.

What field do you work in? I'm just curious...
