The Republicans play anti-black shiat every election. It has never hurt them and won't hurt their base here. It is one of their main platforms for chrissakes.

The Homer Tax 2008-04-24 10:14:45 PM
For those of you that don't know. Michael Steele is a black man who ran for US Senator in Maryland as a Republican. He got his ass kicked by a dude named Ben Cardin: a fat, old, white, democrat. The two counties in the state with the highest percentage of black people, Prince George's County, and Baltimore Country, voted overwhelmingly for Cardin.

Black people have been voting for white people since they were given the unfettered right to vote 40 years ago. 52%of polled Clinton voters said they would cross party lines and vote for McCain rather than for for the n-[BONG]. That's why this whole "zOMG black people are racist thing" is funny. Black people have proven that they won't compromise their party ideals for race, while white people can't say the same thing.

It seems like the majority of the decent Republicans (pretty much the entire party, excluding neocons and social-conservatives) are indifferent to the issue of race. I've noticed that they want successful black people in the party, and Bush, for all his faults, clearly isn't a racist. The Republican Party clearly has no love for poor people, most of whom are minorities (per capita), so it does look like they are racists, but their actions aren't so much anti-black as anti-poor.

IIRC, the Republican Party denounced and booted David Duke, as well as others, but the Democrat Party allows "White Niiggers" Byrd into a senior position.

When you get rid of the Neo-Cons and the Social conservatives, you barely have enough people to fill the Duke Football stadium.

I agree with you that those people aren't racists.

Even the Republican higher-ups are admitting to what their party did.

Doesn't excuse it, but clearly there is a gulf in the party between the types who only care about the color green, and the commoners.
