You gotta hand it to him to actually GO on Fox news himself. I would be almost inclined to actually watch...

on second thought....

I came here to say it doesn't "beg the question" but I see I owe mad props to Fluff Girl

+1 for funny headline
-1 for improper use of 'begs the question.'

You're begging the question, sub-dracula.

I wish Obama would go on O'Riley. I think they would have a fascinating discussion. And O'Riley has defended Obama countless times on his radio show. So I doubt it would be a hostile interview.

Why would he submit to this exactly? What does he have to gain? Fox Noise "news" "reporters" have shown they have zero integrity and are not above making themselves look completely absurd to advance their ridiculous agenda.

/cringes at the thought of the fair and balanced William Ayres and Jeremiah Wright discussion sure to ensue

It does. This instance hasn't. Yet.

It would be quite a coup for Fox 'news' to ask serious questions on policy, and avoid simply going over old talking points over and over and over until people associate them strongly with Obama regardless of their irrelevance...

Yeah, that's going to happen.

Ace Frehley's Ghost 2008-04-24 08:19:42 PM
Well, they've got to ask more pertinent questions than ABC did at the last debate.

The fact that he's going to be on Sunday television and on FOX News may be an indication he figures he has to reach out to working-class Democrats, moderates and conservative Democrats and FOX News is a good place to do it," he said.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

HAHAHAHA!

HAHAHA!

I'm sorry, it's just that this is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen, heard, or eaten.

Moving on, I don't see how this can possibly help him. I'd never seen the man act even remotely shaken until the infamous ABC "debate", and I would bet good money that his appearance on FOX will be at least as bad.

saintstryfe 2008-04-24 08:31:31 PM
If He goes on Fox and sucks, his supporters and most others will roll thier eyes. "IT's fox, they're against him."

If he hits it out of the park, he's a genius.

There's no downside, especially post-ABC debate. If they ask those sort of questions, everyone will know it.

Not their style. They ask totally ridiculous questions with the "Many people say..." thing so it seems like they are saying "We, being a respected news outlet, hate to ask something this totally partisan and loaded, but we have to since many people are wondering..."

That way when they there is war, economic problems, debt, social issues, ect going on and they ask "Are you patriotic?" they think they don't look as transparently partisan.

I really doubt we will get anything more substantive out of Fox News interviewing Obama than when Jon Stewart asked him about his plans to enslave the white race.

Cable news is just a massive circle jerk of daily talking points, signifying nothing.

Look, we argue all the time and disagree on here, I know. But let's be honest for a minute. You don't think that Wallace is going to bring up Wright again and again? Or the bomber dude? Or the time the guy who mows obama's grass was arrested for cocaine possession? Or anything that can attack his character and his patriotism? Yes, he will ask about the important things, but it will be about 50-50. I don't blame him. He is catering to his audience. They want to hear that shiat. Which, as I said, is why this is brilliant politically. Obama has nothing to lose. Foxnews has zero credibility left. So if they do all this shiat, they just show what they are. The fact that Obama goes on there into the den shows you that their done as a "news" organization. They could get him to say anything and people are just like "So what? It was Fox".

He still hasn't completely answered the questions about him because he can't and he knew he was going to be a political liability. To paraphrase Rev Wright, Obama's "chickens have come home to roost" As for Fox News they are still the number one cable news channel so they are not "done"

Two possibilities:

1--Wallace asks intelligent, issue related questions and Senator Obama answers truthfully and thoughtfully.

2--Wallace focuses on the Wright/Bitter/Ayers stuff and Obama answers truthfully and thoughtfully albeit resignedly.

Either way, the "panel" will destroy him at the end of the show. I do hold out some hope for the Wallace portion based on his comments on Fox and Friends a couple weeks ago attacking the attackers

I don't consider anything he said extreme. We do have the right to say anything we want in this country, no? He wasn't yelling fire in a crowded theater, so he can say whatever he wants. I may not agree with it, but I will defend his right to say it.

Why Obama kept him as his pastor is none of anyone's business. To me religion is personal, and frankly I don't give a rat's patoot what his religion is or what church he goes to or who his pastor is. Does he have what it takes to lead this country out of the pit it has been put in by the current administration? This is what matters. Go ahead and argue this, but don't expect me to waste any more time on it.

During this whole thing that is the one thing I don't get. Not just that one statement but all the statements. Why the need to defend what he said? I don't see people on the right defending what Falwell or Robertson said after 9/11 (I am SURE there is one guy who did) or what Hagee said about the Catholic Church. I don't get the need to defend it. I really think the left has gone so far over to the "my team" thinking that they went off the deep end OR they just plain agree with him.
