I had the same thought; his party affiliation wasn't mentioned in the article. Sure enough, do some digging and we find that he is listed as "Democrat." Since the article's only reference to political party was the Democratic chairman's call for the man to resign, I thought I was actually going to find a case of "Name that party" with a Republican in it.

So---about half the class can look into a mirror and see a naked woman if they want. The rest are no doubt spending every waking hour trying to see a naked woman. And this poor slob has to resign for showing them one. Not defending his stupidity, just appreciating the silliness.

My mind was scarred, obviously, and I will never lead a decent moral life, thanks to the depravity I had forced up on me by those evil educators. (I actualy saw much, much worse during slideshows for a class on world religion, but I won't go into that for fear of dredging up painful memories.)



Seriously, making a guy quit just because an IT accident flashes a picture of a naked woman? As long as it's nothing illegal, I don't see how anyone was harmed. Having some naughty pictures on a disk should not be grounds for firing anyone, anywhere, from any job.

I had an excellent set of slides for some lectures I gave in an 18 month period, speaking mainly to youth politicians but sometimes also school-classes. After the bits I knew was hideously dull to some people, I would insert a reneissance painting of some sort, and set the slide to automatically skip to next after 00:00.

It basically gave a brief flash of lots of skin-tones, which made people sit up straight and wonder what they had missed. Of course, if I was questioned about this, I could go back to the slide and show them baby jeebus on the lap of the virgin Mary or da Vinci's "Lady with an Ermine" or something like that.

A "feature" of Windoze called "AutoPlay". You stick your, well, stick into the USB port and a window pops up giving a summary of the contents. The picture was probably a thumbnail of a larger image.

Not one of Microsoft's more brilliant ideas.
