Since when is Fark hostile to women? I can understand how it might not be particularly attractive to women with stereotypical female interests (and of course there are quite a few of those), what with politics, sex, and hilarious dumbasses (or, in the case of Eliot Spitzer, all three) being the three biggest topics of discussion round here, but that's a different thing than being hostile. There's certainly a sort of general low-level background hostility that permeates our beloved Fark, but it's clearly not aimed specifically at women.
