Brian looks kinda funny.

Too bad the cover will probably eclipse the music on the album. Haven't had a good record since "Pinkerton" IMHO.

Let me guess: A red back ground with 4 guys on it?

am i missing something about how awesome four guys standing in front of a red backdrop is?

How much more red could this cover be?

Yes.

4 less guys red. Of course, then they'd probably have to worry about getting sued by the Beetles estates.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-04-22 03:56:41 PM
Why the hell is the cover worth releasing? Weezer is a terrible band anyway.

The first single is up on their site, and if the rest of the album is like Pork and Beans, then I'm really excited about this one.

DoblerMeyer [TotalFark] 2008-04-22 04:42:24 PM
Oh, and since when did a "Deluxe Edition" only include 14 songs?? Who am I kidding though, I'd buy it just for the song "Pig" alone.

Dr.Knockboots [TotalFark] 2008-04-22 04:47:57 PM
Well, that looks plain and boring to me. Why is this getting any sort of press here at Fark at all?

None more red.

FAIL

/1996 called, they want your assessment of Weezer back
//Saw them 4 times during 1994-1996, they did indeed rule
///Saw them once in 2001, they sucked and have ever since
////For more proof listen to "We Are All On Drugs"
//Pinkerton, FTW!!!!

Looks like a poorly designed first demo album.

Seen better stuff carved into high school notebooks.

Pave_the_Planet 2008-04-22 07:46:26 PM
Too bad the music won't match the album cover's cool.

/didn't really enjoy much beyond the Blue Album anyways.

Eeewwwww.....retro and irony together again.

What a totally original combination.

Agreed. I would've only cared about this album cover if one of those dudes were Matt Sharp.

The whole "your music sucks, my music rules" thing is about the lamest thing a person can ever say. I like quite a bit of music myself that other people hold in contempt. I understand that different people will have different tastes, and I'm more than happy with adopting a live and let live attitude when it comes to musical snobbery.

But geez, if you like Weezer, I don't know what to tell you. They're just entire oceans of terrible.

Not bad, but they are going to have to bring a lot more of that if they want me to get over Make Believe.

/Still might catch them in a concert if they roll through town though.

ElTaco 2008-04-23 01:23:05 AM
Beverly Hills ruined that band for me. I didn't know the Devil came in audio form until I heard that garbage. And it doesn't help it somehow makes it onto tons of commercials and tv shows.

Contradict yourself much?

As a Weezer fan, I will readily admit they have put out some really shiatty songs. But also some good songs as well. With their first 2 records being flawless start to finish, expecations are still high 12 years later. Green, Maladroit and Make Believe were not as good of "albums," but did have some gems on them.

I also believe in being a fan of a band. I don't see how it is different than being a fan of a sports team. When your team is bad, you can admit they are bad but still love the shiat out of them. Nobody likes the a-hole that ditches their team once they become bad, only to return once they become good again.

As far as the new cover, it is hilarious...and because of that, awesome. Rivers has a mustache and is dressed like a cowboy. How is that not funny?

zabbers 2008-04-23 10:25:13 AM
is that cover supposed to be making fun of the different ironic fashion styles found in contemporary pop music? i haven't followed Weezer since pinketon days, so i'm out of the loop.

mdbuff12 2008-04-23 10:41:53 AM
I thought Rivers took a vow of celibacy; based on this cover it looks like he was knee deep in gay porn.

I came to say that the band has been lackluster since Matt Sharp left.

LOL, the only time ever I came in contact with Weezer was the extras folder on the Windows 95 CD. Do they really exist?

my sentiments precisely, and very eloquently put. thanks, you win a pizza party.

every bassist since Matt Sharp has been kind of a douchnozzle "rockstar" though. that image never really fit with the band
