Really? I'm not saying she is ugly, just bland. I would call her average looking. The fact the she is a crazy diva biatch doesn't win her any points either.

Violated? I think that's all the dark meat she's been ingesting lately.

People say she's a diva but if anyone has a right to be one, wouldn't it be Mariah? She has what, 19 #1 singles, six platinum albums? You don't have that much success without having a lot of talent and the notion that she's a little demanding and in love with herself comes with the territory. If she wants to dress up a little slutty, more power to her! It seems that many people want to rip on her just for the sake of ripping on someone that's an easy target (she is). Let's rip on people worthy of being ripped on, Heidi Montag, Ashlee Simpson.

I remember seeing her on an episode of MTV Cribs several years ago. She wouldn't let the cameras in her bedroom. She said, "That's private. That's mine. I don't think anyone should be able to see it. I just think I should have something that's mine." or something to that effect.

Now she doesn't want a kid because she doesn't want to be violated?

I don't know what kinds of nasty things you did to this poor girl Mr. Matola, but you left behind a broken shell of a woman.

Oh, she'd get kicked out of bed, immediately after the festivities were over. Sure, she still has the hot, but that crazy... either she leaves or I do.

The fact that there are people out there, including herself, that believe she does indeed have a "right" to act like she does is why she's a target. She's a metaphor for how poorly skewed our priorities in this country are. That's why she's a target. Nobody has a "right" to act like such a nutbag and treat people like crap without someone calling them out on it.

Here's the thing: she just broke Elvis Presley's record for most #1 hits by a solo artist, but it's really hard for me to call up a Mariah Carey song in my mind. I have to kind of be reminded (like, "Oh, she did that 'Vision of Love' song, right? I kind of remember how that goes.") I mean, I'm not claiming that my musical tastes are so rarified I've never heard Carey's songs; I've had about as much exposure to them as anyone. It's just that her musical output has been bland and unremarkable, really. Complete MOR, with lots of oversinging and hitting stupidly high notes thrown in.

Further proof this woman is absolutely insane. I've heard plenty of legitimate reasons for not wanting to have a kid, but this isn't one of them. Being violated by having a kid? WTF?

Creating a new life is being violated but apparently engaging in DVDA with a large number of important people in the music business isn't. Now I know.

But perhaps her greatest moment of diva madness came during a trip in 2005 when at 2am she refused to check in to her hotel until a red carpet and scented candles lined the entrance.

I can understand wanting the nice things you can now afford with your wealth, but come on. Reading stuff like that makes me sick.
I wonder how she ever would have survived if she wasn't blessed with her voice.

(I don't like her music, but can't deny she's got a natural talent.)

She's lucky I wasn't working at the hotel that night. She would have spent a very long time waiting in that lobby.

In truth, some women DO feel like it's an unnatural state for the human body. Perhaps she could have worded it better, but if she doesn't want kids because it'd make her feel weird, so be it.

On a side note, I wouldn't feel weird about it at all. When my ex-wife was pregnant, I was a little jealous and wished I could know what it felt like have a baby growing inside.

"For now, I enjoy my dog Jack's company. It's definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff. The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby.
"I never wanted to feel violated and I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am."

You know, I hate this biatch and her "diva" bullshiat, but this is a pretty sensible statement. She's saying that she has issues and maybe wouldn't be the best mother. I wish a lot of other potential mothers had the same sense.

I'm the same way i can recognize her on the radio but i cannot tell one of her songs from another. They all sound exactly the same. Honestly did she just re-released the same song 19 times?

Just be honest.. you don't have room or time for kids. Someone had to be violated I guess, all the time raising and having you. Not quite the right word I think.

Its better to know you're not cut out for motherhood.... plain and simple

Amen! I was going to say she can be a diva without being a demanding biatch.

Singers like Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin are divas in the true sense of the word. Singers like Mariah Carey and Madonna are divas in the negative, whiny, demanding sense. The latter isn't really a diva, just a spoiled child in adult shoes.

Diva =/= getting to say and do anything you please.

jake_lex: and hitting stupidly high notes thrown in.

So being able to hit really high notes and having what is generally regarded as one of the best vocal ranges in the music industry (maybe not anymore)is a flaw in your mind? If you think hitting high notes is stupid, then I'm guessing you're even less of a fan of opera singers.

Not being able to differentiate her songs isn't so much her issue but yours. I mean, if you follow someone's career you're going to be able to recognize their voice when it's played on the radio. She's got a very distinct, amazing, voice so it's hard to believe Jake Lex can't differentiate that amongst most of the other talentless drivel being played on the radio.

In terms of her newer songs, I think they're manufacturered pop garbage, and that Mariah's best days are behind her. But as if we were discussing Randy Johnson's career, Mariah Carey's had a great career, and her current output doesn't negate the greatness she's shown in the past.

Dear Mariah:

You're turning 40 later this year. You will NOT be having children of your own unless you either you get some guy's very powerful sperm for you to be inseminated with (artificially or the old-fashioned way), or adopt a child... who will be a teenager as you turn 50. Good luck either way.

Umm, hitting a high note isn't "stupid" if the song calls for it. It is when you stick a two-octave run for no apparent reason in the middle of a song.

This reminds me of fans of certain guitarists and/or drummers who try to argue that technical proficiency equals artistic greatness. No, it doesn't. Being able to play/sing a bunch of notes doesn't matter if you don't do anything interesting with it. And Carey's work, from the beginning, has been a bland creation of the music industry machine. She sings it well, technically, but the music is fatally flawed by its own lack of personality.

"Greatness she's shown in the past"? Please.

You should be shot on sight for including Celine Dion in the same sentence as Aretha Franklin. These women are on two entirely different levels. Aretha is a true diva, Celine just has a good marketing agent.
