Well, the husbands would be fools to let that happen. A girl I know has done this twice and according to her they're just big cheat-fests. She said half the women repeatedly and openly cheated on their boyfriends and spouses, and the other half definitely had no reservations about getting inappropriately close to other guys.

My wife goes on a church trip to South America every year in the spring, so I take a week's vacation off work and sit around with my hand in my pants like Mr. Bundy up there. I see no problem with this.

An excellent idea. What most women want to do on vacation bores a man to tears. How many of you guys out there have blown a bundle on a nice vacation only to find that the only thing your wives or girlfriends want to do is shop? Men have been going off to do "man thngs" without women for years. I think it's a good idea for women to do the same.

When my SO and I went to So Cal last summer, she just wanted to relax and go to Universal Studios...just like how I wanted things. Hell...I did more shopping that her.

Meh I took a month long vacation. And when I came home he had a renewed appreciation of my cooking ability.

A guy I knew had a wife who was getting a bit testy, and he let her go on a company trip to Hawaii or something. Apparently she met up with an ex boyfriend, and within a couple months she moved out, back to the ex in Hawaii.

Some couples can make it work, but I'll be damned if I ever play the "separate vacation" card. I love going places with my wife, even if we aren't always doing what I might think is fun. We're together, and that is what counts. We'll do some things she likes, some things I like, and some things for us both. I have more fun when I'm with her than I do when I'm not, even if I might not necessarily enjoy the activity we're doing.

To be honest, my husband and I would probably enjoy the occasional vacation on our own, or with friends apart from each other. We're VERY different travelers. He likes to go to the beach and just do nothing all day, I like to get up early and spend every minute I can out seeing the sights of the world around me.

My friends wife does this. I am 100% sure she cheats on him during these breaks.

My mom does this too, usually she and I will head off together for a few days doing things that would bore my father to tears, like going to art museums, shopping, watching foreign movies, and drinking frou-frou drinks. It's best he's not around, and quite frankly, I think he enjoys the opportunity to sit in front of the television with a beer watching the White Sox (or whatever sporting event is on) without my mom moaning 'how can you watch baseball, it's so boring'.
That being said, I'm cool with sitting on the sofa with a beer watching the game too.

However, they do talk every day and they always go on vacations together too, so I'm not particularly worried that anything sketchy is going on, especially since it is usually me she's with. I don't think mom's go on vacations with their children to cheat on their husbands ;)

A couple friends of mine do this. She's a very active traveler. He is content with his ass planted firmly in a fishing boat.

You mean I don't have to cram 6 weeks worth of "sightseeing" into a week, rushing from place to place, forcibly "enjoying" everything... every few minutes proving such by getting a forced smile photo next to the Fuji Foto Spot, and then having to eat every few hours because... we're on vacation, and we should be able to enjoy ourselves?

My wife and I like to travel together, but that is somewhat hampered by not having any money to travel with. About two years ago, I was on tour for a month and she decided to go to Guatemala and southern mexico for 4 weeks, and that worked out pretty well.
