That oddly reminds me of the bit in That Thing You Do! where someone asks Guy if he wears sunglasses to look cool, and he responds, "I am the drummer."

Perfect.

To brush one's shoulders off, according to the Urban Dictionary, is to engage in the act of "shaking them haters off. In other words it means to brush off negative energy of statements made about you."

Saying Jay-Z invented the shoulder brush is like saying farkers invented the lolcat.

bales [TotalFark] 2008-04-19 08:52:40 AM
i saw that speech. the more this guy talks, the happier i am with him. his response to all this bullshiat is really impressing me.. he is denouncing the media driven political system without directly insulting the media by blaming 'politics' instead of the 'media'. he's walking that fine line like a pro.

Barack Obama! He listens to Jay-Z. Does that make him a thug gangster terrorist Manchurian Candidate? Our own Geraldo Rivera examines the various Jay-Z lyrics that may lead to some interesting conclusions about Mr. Obama. Coming up, after these messages.

There's no way he'll make it through two entire terms being "fellated". For the first year or so we'll still be excited as hell just to have somebody better than Bush, but then we'll start finding things to knock him for, just like we do all presidents.

It's amazing how a man who's done nothing to make this country better, a man who has no plans, except "change" is so loved. Especially when it's pretty much a reality that he, his wife and his spiritual leader hate this country. A decade ago, he would have been run out of town, like the turd burglar he is.

Now, people like him because he's like farking Jay Z? Pathetic. Truly pathetic. HE'S A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, NOT A POP STAR!

Apparently he has hired some quick-witted spokespeople to make him look "cool". Well, geez, that's what makes a good president.

I'm quickly seeing Obama as the equivalent of Nikes. In Junior High, you weren't anyone unless you wore white low top Nikes with wide, multicolored laces. Why? No one knows, but everybody wore them.... just because it was the thing to do. And they all looked like idiots, but at least everyone matched.

FTFA:

The move illustrated both a generational and a cultural gap: On MSNBC host Joe Scarborough's show yesterday, The Washington Post's Richard Cohen said the shoulder shaking was "contemptuous and aloof" and "not smart." Scarborough on Obama's move: "We looked at each other and said, 'What's he doing ?' "

Well boys, he is reacting to the previous night's hatchet job at the hands of your fellow "journalists" in a humorous way. Sorry it escaped your razor sharp intellect.

Talk about a couple of d-bags.
