I know what I'll be doing on Tuesday now. Now if only they could get Who's Next out there soon.

I've always thought the saying was "You've got another think coming." As in "if you think blah blah blah, well, you've got another think coming."

/am I stupid?

Rock Band Rock Band

I came here to say this.

Subby: fail.

There's supposed to be an entire metallica album and a few other full albums being released for RB as well.

Also, vengeance. Double fail.

Not a big Priest fan? "The Cars" by the Cars will be made available in May, and "Doolittle" by the Pixies comes out in June. It will be time to rock.

Booyah

Rock Band is video crack - soooooo damn addictive

emilyalamode [TotalFark] 2008-04-18 06:03:23 PM
Yeah, I don't know when I'll kick my RB video crack habit. The DLC keeps me coming back for more!

I always thought so too, makes more sense. Never saw it written down until Priest did the song. I think THEY got it wrong.

Google fight votes for think.^

I don't play the game, but I hope if it even inspires 10% of he kids to pick up a real guitar it is a good thing.
Now I'm hoping they put out JP's "Sad Wings of Destiny" and show kids what real metal is all about.

Selector 2008-04-18 07:51:14 PM
That's cool as fark. I downloaded "Electric Eye" just last week. One of my favorite bands that's twice as old as I am. :D

Well, Rock Band includes drums and vocals. On one, you're almost close to doing the real thing when you use the controller. On the other, you are doing the real thing.

I'm addicted to the game thanks to both of those instrument options (guitar controller stopped appealing to me after my first couple of months of Guitar Hero. Not even sure why).

bonkmeist [recently expired TotalFark] 2008-04-18 08:10:22 PM
I have hardly touched the guitar on Rock Band.

On the other hand I have already broken a kick pedal, and my snare/red drum has a hole in it, but still functions just fine. except the sticks dont bounce back properly, making fast snare parts a total biatch. I'm looking at you Foreplay/Long time.

DLC has made this the most awesomely addictive/expensive game ever for me.

craigdamage 2008-04-18 08:15:04 PM
I always thought "Screaming for Vengeance" was rather mediocre.

In fact,I don't even think "British Steel" is really all that great.
(good though)

To me,the holy trinity of Judas Priest greatness is:

"Sad Wings of Destiny" "Sin After Sin" and "Stained Class"

Those three remain their high water marks.

Pyro Messiah 2008-04-18 08:43:45 PM
It's all about Defenders of the Faith, Sin After Sin and Painkiller.

I snapped my foot pedal too. Bought a nice fix on ebay, some guy makes metal ones to put over the plastic pedal.

I pimped out my pads too, you could do it to fix your hole. Go buy a rubber pad from Michaels and some colored felt. Cut em in circles the size of the pads and stick em on. Makes it much quieter too.

Killer Solos on that album. Riding on the Wind is one of my favorite songs.

Yeah, I think I would get about to the part where the kid says: "This is a ballad that I wrote; its about peace and love and good happiness stuff" before I score a whopping 0%.

"You've got another thing comin'" == You are sadly mistaken

It was years before some kindly Brit translated that idiom for me.

That's a British saying?

I'm from Connecticut and am fully familiar with the saying "You've got another thing coming", whereas "You've got another think coming" just sounds retarded.

Maybe that's it, maybe it's regional. I'm West Coast. And functionally retarded.

And I want powerslave and South of Heaven as well!

I lived under a rock and never bothered to check out Priest's later work until recently. It is glorious. Hellrider (new window) rocks my world.

Haha I remember the first time I listened to Screaming for Vengeance (the song)...I couldn't BELIEVE the scream he pulls off near the end of the song. I can literally picture the veins popping out of Rob Halford's head as he nails that note. Amazing.

I want painkiller too, if only for the drums

I'm shocked anyone still has working instruments for the game - I know 6 people that have/had it - 6/6 guitars died within the first month, 4/6 bass pedals broke within 2 months.

Nine Foot Worm Creates Own Food 2008-04-19 03:04:05 PM
It's funny because Rob Halford is gay.

craigdamage: Those three remain their high water marks.

For me Hell Bent for Leather (or Killing Machine as it was also called) is perhaps their best album.

There's nothing like that old Judas Priest. Makes me want to go out and buy a British Motorcycle.

I'd go a little farther though, I'd say anything after Turbo sucked. Everything before that was cool

Judas Priest is my favorite band of all time. I am looking forward to their new CD Nostradomus and the upcomming tour with Motorhead and heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath with Dio singing). Talk about the ultimate metal concert!
