Nice piano break, but WAY too much drums in the mix. You can't even hear the bass line which is such a key component to that tune.

You're surprised that a 1950's TV-mix isn't great? Actually, it could have been okay, but nothing survives compression on the YouTubes anyway, so we'll never know. The piano solo jumped out at me, too. Fantastic.

I saw him in '88 or '89. It was unbelievable.

I saw him in '79 when I was in high school. Man, he was a giant of jazz, and a nice guy, too. He gave some clinics at our local university's high school jazz competition that were the best music instruction that I ever had.

/Always loved his trumpet.
