Actually, they:

"Ain't nothing to fark with"

or in other words:

they are not people with whom you would not fark.

cancel out the conflicting negatives:

they are not people with whom you would not fark.

So really, when it comes to people you can, in-fact, fark with, Wu-Tang is right at the top of the list.

I miss ODB, aka Big Baby Jesus, aka Dirt McGirt.

He was my favorite rapper/crackhead ever.

How can hip-hop be dead when Wu-Tang is forever?

/Wu Tang represents a time when you could still be grimy and real and still be mainstream. I still can't believe G-Unit thinks they are better than Wu, it's sad.

Saw them again in Richmond this winter. Meth and RZA no-showed and Masta Killa was late. That was fine and all, but the GZA was uber drunk or stoned or something. He was off time a lot of the night and then just walked off stage shortly through the set.

favorite Wu song (Shadowboxin from GZA Liquid Swords LP)

[special technique of shadowboxing] God damn
(The GZA, god damn!)
(The GZA, god damn!) Pledge allegiance to the hip-hop!
(Method, god damn!) I pledge allegiance to the hip-hop
(Maximilli-on, Maximilli-on)
(Uh, yeah, ahh, uh) Johnny Blaze
I pledge allegiance to the hip-hop
(Johnny Blaze) Maximilli-on
Maximilli-on

I breaks it down to the bone gristle
Ill speaking Scud missle heat seeking
Johnny Blazing, nightmares like Wes Craven
nubianz gunnin, my third eye seen it coming
Before it happen
You know about them farking Staten
Kids they smashin
Everything huh, in any shape form or fashion
Now everybody talking bout they blastin, hmmm
Is you bustin steel or is you flashin? Hmmm
Talkin out your assHOLE
You shoulda learnt about the flow and peasy afro
Ticallion stallion, chinky eye and snot nosed
From my naps to the bunion on my big toe
I keeps it movin, know just what the fark I'm doin
Rap insomniac, fiend to catch a nubian snoozing
Slip the cardiac arrest me, exorcist hip-hop possess me
Crunch a nubian like a Nestle, you know my STEEZ
burning to the third degree, sneaky ass alley cat top pedigree
The head toucher, industry party bum rusher
You don't like it dick up in ya fark ya

(allow me to demonstrate) That's right, you corny-ass
(the skill of Shaolin) rap motherfarkers
(The special technique) Better go back and check
(of shadowboxing) your farkin stacks
(Shadowboxing) Cause your naps ain't nappy enough
And your reefs ain't rugged enough
biatch

I slayed MC's back in the rec room era
My style broke motherfarkin backs like Ken Patera
Most rap nubianz came loud but unheard
Once I pulled out, round em off to the nearest third
Check these non visual nubianz, with tapes and a portrait
Flood the seminar, tryin to orbit this corporate
industry, but what them nubianz can't see
must break through like the Wu, unexpectedly
Protect Ya Neck, my sword still remains imperial
Before I blast the mic, RZA scratch off the serial
We reign all year round from June to June
While nubianz bite immediately if not soon
Set the lynchin, and form the execution date
As this two thousand beyond slang suffocate
Amplify sample through vacuum tubes compressions
cause RZA, to charge nubianz twenty G's a session

When my mind start to clickin, and the strategy
is mastered the plot thickens, this be that Wu shiat
I don't give a cotton-pickin FARK
about a brother tryin to size a nubian up, I hold my own
Hard-hat protect your dome
Look at mama baby boy actin like he grown
No time for sleep, I gets deep as a baritone
Killa bee, that be holdin down his honeycomb, loungin son
Wu brother number one, protect your neck
Flying guillotines here they come, bloody bastards
Hard times and killer tactics, spittin words plus
semi-automatic slurs, peep the graphic
novel from the genie bottle, hit the clutch
shift the gear now, full throttle, time to bungee
To the next episode, I keeps it grungy
Hand on my nutsack, and spittin lung-ghies
At a wack nubian dat, don't understand the fact
When it come to RZA tra-cks I don't know how to act
Real rap from the Stat, killa hill projects
How to be exact, break it down
All and together now
Things are getting good looking better now

(Allow me to demonstrate the skill of Shaolin)
(Sha-shadowboxing, the special technique of shadowboxing)
(Shadowboxing)

Shadowboxin

They suck live now. I am tired of Meth telling me "The more you give us the more we give you". that is not the way it goes, it is the exact opposite in fact. It isnt my job to get you excited it is the other way around. Needless to say i will never spend the money again.

I saw them at Rock the Bells last year. They were easily the worst musical act of the day. With the exception of Method Man, all of them totally sucked in concert. Half of them just stood around saying "Wu...Wu...Wu" while the other half said "Tang...Tang...Tang". Seriously don't evar bother seeing them, they're that bad.

Cypress Hill on the other hand is fuggin AWESOME live.

There weren't so bad, I thought the Roots and Public Enemy where the lamest. Wu-Tang was pretty good imo. I went to the show in San Francisco on the 18th of August.

Were you there on Saturday or Sunday? I couldnt agree with you more though, Wu sucked it up. Did you happen to catch Living Legends set? That was my favorite set of the day besides Rage of course.

I saw Wu-Tang in early 2006 and they had it together. Rocked the farkin' house down, despite the lack of ODB. And then I saw them at Rock The Bells (NY Sat 7/28) and never again.

Meth is the only one who's still got his youth in him, but I agree with the previous poster about "the energy".

GZA was so drunk that he couldn't get past the first verse on his own songs and he wandered off-stage at points. I saw him solo in 2005 and he was tight, had tickets to another solo show during the summer of 2007 that was cancelled. I heard it got re-cancelled before it actually happened at a different venue, because McCarren Pool is closed in November. Dude has an alcohol problem.

Ghostface has his shiat together when he's with the Clan, but I'm pretty sure he no-showed the following day. He's the best solo artist amongst the Clan today, but he's universally regarded as one of the worst live performers, because he'd rather get drunk, do a couple verses of a song, and then bring girls from the audience up to grind on them while whining about fruit snack rappers.

Inspectah Deck is just shy or something. He never does much of anything when the whole Clan's on stage. Saw him solo, he was 90 minutes late and did a 50-minute set that included 10 minutes of standing in the crowd getting morons to "freestyle".

I met Raekwon in early 2006, he said OB4CL2 was coming that summer. I don't think we have a definite release date yet. shiat's gonna be stale.

The song they chose to mention as Wu's hit was farking "Gravel Pit"??

Nemo's Brother 2008-04-17 10:06:51 PM
I did see all of them (ODB included) outside of DC in 97. Awesome show. Liquid Swords, 36 Chambers and Fish Scale are the shiat, btw.
