Apparently you don't need art either.

For the love of par three pitch and putts - you haven't written a good song since I'm Eighteen!

no, but you need to die for other people to get rich from your art.

Alice Cooper wasn't really about the music. He was about the live shows, which he excelled at.

Of course, he has used the same shtick in his shows for thirty years.

No, but dying makes it a lot easier to avoid becoming a lame golf-playing grandpa in your old age.

What is the problem with Alice Cooper playing golf?

I like his radio show.

Kurt Cobain died for his art? Seriously, subby? That's what you're gonna go with? It really seemed to most people he died in spite of his art - it seemed to be one of the few things that kept him going as long as he did.

And, I'm not sure if you know this the voices in your head, but Alice Cooper is a persona. A performance; there's a real person with a family and hobbies and a life outside of Alice Cooper's music and appearances and radio show. Which is awesome, by the way.

Welcome to my Nightmare, Schools Out, Under My Wheels, Dead Babies, Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, Elected , No More Mr Nice Guy, I love the Dead, Muscle Of Love, Go to Hell, From the Inside, Clones, I could go on, but the guy has a ton of great songs since then, not to mention ones you probably never heard of like My Stars or How you Gonna see me Now etc.

Thanks! I had forgotten that in addition to seawater, urine, and crankshaft oil - that those things were also potential components of bilge. And my Cubscout Junior Seafarer test is tomorrow!

Good for Alice. Drugs and alcohol suck, and they do bad things to people. Anyone who is willing the get involved and help people get away from them (or better yet never start) gets a big thumbs up from me.

Plus he still puts on a really good concert!

he got replaced in the past 15 years by marilyn manson

This seems to agree with subby.

Alice Cooper was dead to me when he appeared on Hollywood Squares back in the 70s

He doesn't need to die for his art.

He needs to die because of the salmon pants and knitted wool beanie he wears while golfing.

/If you don't know what's wrong with golf, that's the problem.

Not really, because Marilyn Manson is only a persona - I doubt there is a person behind all that hoopla. He's an idiot.

I'm sure you've listened to all of his recent albums right? Yeah, right. He's still making great songs.

Well, at least he's done something positive, to make up for absolutely ruining the joy I used to get out of his backlist.

And for the above, I just love how you all seem to find Marilyn Manson far more comfortable to think of as a character. Keep telling yourselves that about MANSON while you watch Cooper play golf and fark up past lyrics to make his songs more Jesusy.
