Wait, has anyone mentioned that Neil wrote "Forever in Blue Jeans" after he killed a drifter to get an erection?

No?

Okay, I'll check back later then...

STRANGE BUT TRUE FACTOIDS...

The excellence of a Brooklyn bar is directly proportional to the amount of Neil Diamond it has in its jukebox. Also, extra points awarded for having a Bucket-a Beer option.

hey, he wrote some of The Monkees best songs.

Another interesting fact is that Neil Diamond is fueled creatively by his massive hatred of immigrants. His love of this great and beautiful nation, and his hatred of all people with dark skin lead him to write Coming to America.

No way. That song is about Eddie Murphy.

12 Songs was good. Neil Diamond is a good songwriter and Rubin is a good producer. I expect this album to be good as well. Good.

There are two types of people in this world: those who like Neil Diamond and those who don't.

/my ex-wife loves him

Then dont buy it Subby

I have seen Neil 3 times and expect to see him again this tour - the guy sure can put on a show

amindtat 2008-04-16 03:26:59 PM
Neil Diamond albums were almost the only albums my mom played while I was growing up, so hearing some of his old stuff can make me feel a bit stabby at times. But I will admit that "12 Songs" was one HELL of an album, I look forward to hearing the next one.
I saw him on his last tour too. It was really creepy when he sang "I am the song, you are the tune, play me" and all the 50+ year old women started screaming and getting all wet and horny.

Up yours, subby. If nothing else, Neil Diamond WILL GET YOU LAID. All you single Farkers out there take note. Chicks WILL fall for it when you use the proper soundtrack.

Thanks for that. Funny stuff.

And I'll probably regret this - but Cheri Oteri actually looks really good in that intro.

If not for Neil Diamond, AM radio would have been even more of a wasteland than it was.

/AM radio when you used to listen to music on it.
//Anyone remember that?

I'm going to give subby the benefit of the doubt and say he's making a Young Ones reference.

Rubin WAS a good producer. The guy has gone to shiat as of late.

Diamond is one of the greatest there has ever been. Eat a bag of dicks, submitter.

/He was experimenting with African rhythms 15 years before Simon's "Graceland."

HappyHarryHardOn [TotalFark] 2008-04-16 07:06:06 PM
Love the dude, don't forget "cracklin' rosie" to the list and the REAL, origoinal version of "girl, you'll be a woman..."

BornfromPain: Rubin WAS a good producer. BAH!

Was and still is, the cat is prolific. The last few Johnny Cash records, RHCP's Stadium Arcadium, Diamond's 12 Songs, Jay Z's Black Album, the guy's a musical genius. And rocks a killer beard!

Personally, I'm not a fan of Neil Diamond's stuff. It's ok if you are, but it just ain't my bag.

On the other hand, with Rick Rubin behind the album, it could turn out to be pretty good. Ruben tends to bring out the best in artists.

Oh yeah, suck it subby...
