it's a farking shame that Rockpile only put out 1 album
/I know, they sort of have 4-5
//but I never got to see them
///saw Lowe 4 times as a backup band and he killed every time

Awesome. Thanks, subby.

I named one of my fantasy football teams after them: The Riverdale Rockpile

I saw Nick Lowe live last week with Robyn Hitchcock. Elvis came out and joined them for the encores. I know it's a little off topic, but hell, I'm telling EVERYONE.

Was going to submit something on this, but figured no way in hell it would get the greenlight. Very happy to be wrong.

Now then, try birthday dancing to this, kids.

There was a lot of live Rockpile stuff on YouTube, but most of it's gone now, unfortunately. This one, with Robert Plant, is still there.

Man, DON'T tell me that it was as good as I'd thought. I couldn't make it due to work.

Seen Hitchcock a time or two and Nick with Little Village. Really wanted to make that show, dangit.

Thanks for that Edmunds!

Yeah, the Lowe and Edmunds albums that came out in the late 70's were for the most part Rockpile albums with Nick or Dave taking all the lead vocals if it was out under their name. Love the Everly Brothers songs that came extra with Seconds of Pleasure.

Saw them 3 times -- twice opening for Elvis, and once as a headliner. Loud as hell, great great great band. Then saw Dave once solo in the early 80's. Billy Bremner and Terry Williams were no slouches either. I love a drummer who can play off the bell of a cymbal like Terry (see "Girls Talk").

Stumbled across this little gem which I had never seen before: guitarist Albert Lee in the studio with Dave, working on "Sweet Little Lisa." Nick deadpanning at the end of the clip is classic stuff: "Listen, you've obviously read my pamphlet on this guitar playing technique..."

I just found a ton linked from your Little Sister video. "I knew the bride", "Girls Talk". some are listed as either Nick or Dave but when you watch it's Rockpile. at least 2 albums by each were really Rockpile albums
/some are videos but better than nothing

Back to School Days, They Call it Rock, Crawling from the Wreckage
Graham Parker covers FTW :-p

The show was fantastic, the encore with Nick and Elvis doing Indoor Fireworks was pretty.. umm.. "unrehearsed." If you want to see Nick (and you should) he's playing at Maxwell's in Hoboken (great venue) on Friday March 2.

Yeah, but as recently as a month or so ago, there were a bunch of "real" live clips, not lip-synch promos. Half a dozen or more... Nick mugging his way through "Switchboard Susan," stuff like that. Hopefully it will get reposted before too long.

I don't understand why some stuff stays and other stuff vanishes
/there are so many duplicates that should be removed though

Got that one 3 or 4 years ago too! Had a cassette that had finally died -- it had the Everlys cuts, but not the live band stuff. I'm missing two of my favorite old Edmunds albums: Repeat When Necessary and Tracks On Wax 4. Hate that...

With Dave on The Race Is On. Sloppy but fun! Lee Rocker is all over the place, what do you do?
