Nice find, subby. I had no idea that there was once a Johnny Cash TV show - this aired when I was five months old, so I missed it the first time.

I once stayed two weeks in the home built by (Sloop) John Bethel, though... http://www.vrbo.com/81555 (Sorry, linky-pop didn't work)

It's where he first sang (I think first) Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Coming Down." The execs didn't want him (Cash) to say "stoned" but Kristofferson was adamant that it be said, so during the performance Cash stares right into the camera and blurts it out. A big FU to the network.

/Big Cash fan
//apologies if I mispelled Kris' name, it's early

Can't watch it till I get home from work, but I am going to go ahead and assume that it is awsome. Very few muscians have moved me to tears, and caused me to question portions of my life style. Let it be known that I don't go to church on sunday, but I am damn sure to play a Cash album.

the johnny cash show was probably the best entertainment show of alll time. not a bunch of comedy bs, just a little. mainly musicians. they should show it again somewhere on cable.

we miss you John.

There's a great show on PBS called "Johnny Cash: A Man & his Music" or something like that. It's comprised of some of the best musical guest performers he had on his variety show. Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Carl Perkins and a whole bunch more. My favorite clip though is of Clapton w/ the Derek and the Domino's. Johnny and Carl Perkins come out do song with the band and it's really cool. You can tell that Clapton is in complete awe of those two.

I was going to bring that up. I was all excited while watching it, then when EC was on... well lets just say I lost it and had to have a moment. Good times.
