Legal Farkers,

Does this extend to computer software also?

What are 'cd's'?

Farkingwhatever: What are 'cd's'?

A way to buy music if you want to get something tangible with your purchase.

Seriously? Throwing away a promo CD makes you a pirate?

At my college stations, we routinely put a big as bin of crap CDs artists sent us yet we'd never play in the hallway for students to dig through and take what they want. People loved digging through the "shiat bin"

We'd be serving consecutive life sentences right now.

If the promos are their property, shouldn't I be allowed to charge them a storage fee, plus a processing and convenience fee? Say $25 a day.

I've said this a million times before, but I used to see record label representatives come in to used CD stores and sell entire 30 count boxes of promo CD's.

Karma's a b*tch, corpo-music f*cks. You spent decades screwing over your musicians...now it's your turn to get reamed.

Do I sound bitter?

This guy made hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) for Columbia...died from pnemonia in a burned out house.

I never looked at it that way. I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Universal is the most scurrilous of all the remaining Big Labels.

They're the main reason you should always wear an internet jimmy hat when P2Ping.

This thing with the promos is so stupid as to be completely typical of them.

Interesting, since most publications would receive the promo copy at their office, then give/post it to the reviewer - is this unauthorised? Because it's not going to get reviewed otherwise...

I just made my first "tangible" purchase in nearly 12 years... already have over 500 CD's(and over 400 vinyl LPs), but stopped buying once I'd THOUGHT I'd already bought all the older stuff I wanted (newer stuff doesn't impress me much), but the other day, realized I had no solo Joe Walsh in my collection, so ordered the two-disc "Look what I did!" anthology from Amazon.

/ironically, with this thread, on MCA, a Universal label...
//prefers a hard uncompressed copy over digital downloads...
///yes, Joe Walsh... now get off my lawn!

that soldier boy song really does suck, someone plays at at least 5 times on the jukebox every time I go bowling, makes me want chuck something heavy and knock a bunch of stuff over... no wonder my scores are improving.
