Bill Frist: Hillary is the most unelectable Democratic candidate since Mondale.

She has to win Pennsylvannia by a 2:1 margin if she wants to stay in this race. Her backers are getting twitchy and party insiders are telling her (in private for the moment) to bail out now or else.

She has to blow Obama away in this next race and she has to find more financing. if she can't do that, then it's over.

Ironically enough, it wouldn't be the first time that Pennsylvannia has put an end to the hopes of a southern campaign hellbent on taking D.C.

So offense, but what the hell is so southern about Hillary? She's always seemed to be East Coast Elitist.

Well, she was first lady of Arkansas for a long time.

She was born in Illinois though, not the East coast.

Excuse me, Hillary was "raised with Midwestern values" from her growing up on the mean streets of Park Ridge, Illinois.

"Southern"? Southern, my ass. I don't care how long that carpetbagger spent in Arkansas, she's from just outside Chicago and high tailed it to New York rather than go back. She's about as southern as New England clam chowder.

This is the same logic that makes Obama a Muslim - living in the same area as folks doesn't make you one of them.

Yeah, that's true...but she always gave off the vibe of being from New York. I don't think she ever felt comfortable in Arkansas.

I mean she melded with New York rather quickly...and state and city accepted her. Had she tried that carpetbagging in Chicago, they would have pointed and laughed. Obama had to ingrain himself into Chicago society before even trying to to go into elected office.

She gives a 100% Chicago vibe.

She acts totally uncool, has a huge chip on her shoulder and believes the entire world is unfairly against her.

It isn't at all like the cool, arrogant, get out of my way NY vibe.

Please. The Democratic party forced Hillary on NY. NYers mostly hate her.

She wouldn't even have been elected if Rudy Giuliani hadn't gotten cancer at the last minute and dropped out of the race. The Republicans had to toss some nobody at her and even then she got s smaller percent of NY votes than Al Gore did against Bush.

But she has faced the GOP's toughest stuff for 15 years!? She has gone through all the rough battles!? She beat Lincoln himself!

Honestly I think if the NY primary were held again, Hillary would lose. I see a ratio of about 20 to 1 Obama to Hillary buttons and stickers walking the streets of Manhattan.

I live in Greenwich Village, and Obama seems more popular. Not 20-1, though.

Bill Frist 2008-04-13 04:29:09 PM
I'm not saying OBama would win 20-1, but that is about the ratio of stickers and buttons I see. I've honestly only seen a handful of people will hillary buttons, but every day I see several with Obama.

I've always wondered what it would be like if a Democrat were treated like a Republican by the main stream media... I guess Hillary can tell us.

You think the Dems have it bad, the best the REpublicans could come up with was a grumpy dochebag who is widely hated by his own party members and his colleagues, who can't open his mouth without sounding like he is completely senile and who has flip-flopped on so many issues he makes John Kerry look like the Rock of Gibraltar.

Bill Clinton was treated worse by the media than any other president in recent memory (barring the two who DESERVED to be treated like shiat, obviously)

Hahaha, oh wow it must be nice to live in a world of fantasy and delusion as the media did stories like "Is oral sex adultery" and we got to hear "It's none of our business" or "This just about sex" as a mantra for months and years.

And yet, alot of Dems and independents look at McCain and say "Hmm...that's not so bad. I could live with that if I had to."

Do they though?

When both primarys were going Obama was beating McCain by double digits in all of the polls.

It is only now, after Hillary has done her scorched earth policy, has McCain clawed his way back up.

And he hasn't done anything himself to impress voters. THe extended Dem primary has just killed enthusism for both democrats.

If McCain wins in the fall it will be 100% thanks to Hillary Clinton.

I wouldn't worry. When the primary ends - and I really suspect it's over as soon as Pennsylvania doesn't go 15+ points for Hillary - and Hillary stops attacking, it'll recenter and people will get to see McCain and realize they aren't in love with old vietnam vets as much as they thoguht they might be.
