Clinton a 2nd amendment supporter? Hahaha. Good farking luck getting anyone who owns a gun to vote for you, you stupid coont. No one wants your assault weapons ban bullshiat back.

I support the right to keep and bear arms.

I am also a democrat.

The fact that "terrorism" was called upon to ban 50 cal in California to ban the Barrett , makes me farking sick.

My opinion on the weapon is that, with match grade ammo, that the Barrett is an excellent weapon AND target rifle. While we all love the Remington 700, here in California, that really is the best we can get. That is, with the exception of the Weatherbys. I

The Barret is an excellent weapon. I actually own an M82A1 and shoot it in competition. Its accurate as hell.

I also love the Remington 700. I own two of these and out of the box they shoot .5 MOA... very nice!

Did that .50BMG ban ever take effect in Ca?

The mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter, has been featured in commercials endorsing Hillary Clinton. On Thursday Nutter signed into law five new gun laws, including a handgun purchase limit and a sweeping assault weapons ban that easily outstrips the expired federal ban.

I'd like to see someone ask Hillary if she supports the restrictive new laws and see just how far she's willing to pander for votes before the Pennsylvania state primary.

Exactly. I can respect a person who stands by their principles, even if I don't agree with all of them - though certain core values like respect for the rule of law are essential in my book. Someone who tailors their opinions to the whims of polls and focus groups just comes off as insincere.

Yeah, Barrett refuses to service the .50 cal weapons owned by California state agencies. Their ban is the reason he introduced the .416 Barrett.

At the risk of pulling a "you know what really grinds my gears?" kind of moment, allow me to say that I really fail to understand this. Not Hillary's blatant capitalism on Obama's "guff," but the fact that people continually fall for this garbage.

Really, folks? You really can't connect the dots here and see that she's simply taking advantage of this and likely doesn't care about the issue?

Remember that story the other day about how Clinton and Obama (new window)have similar policies?
Where here is a perfect example of how both candidates have standard Democratic views on gun control. So I don't see how Hillary expects anyone to think she's suddenly a big fan of the NRA or gun rights.

Clinton on gun control (new window)

Against illegal guns, crack down on illegal gun dealers. (Jan 2008)
Backed off a national licensing registration plan on guns. (Jan 2008)
Get assault weapons & guns off the street. (Jul 2007)
Background check system could prevent Virginia Tech massacre. (Apr 2007)
FactCheck: VA Tech shooter not declared a danger to others. (Apr 2007)
Congress' failure at Littleton response inspired Senate run. (Nov 2003)
Keep guns away from people who shouldn't have them. (Sep 2000)
Limit access to weapons; look for early warning signs. (Sep 2000)
License and register all handgun sales. (Jun 2000)
Tough gun control keeps guns out of wrong hands. (Jul 1999)
Gun control protects our children. (Jul 1999)
Don't water down sensible gun control legislation. (Jul 1999)
Lock up guns; store ammo separately. (Jun 1999)
Ban kids' unsupervised access to guns. (Jun 1999)
Get weapons off the streets; zero tolerance for weapons. (Sep 1996)
Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005)
Voted NO on banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers for gun violence. (Mar 2004)
Prevent unauthorized firearm use with "smart gun" technology. (Aug 2000)

And I love this quote: I realize the NRA is a formidable political group; but I believe the American people are ready to come together as a nation and do whatever it takes to keep guns away from people who shouldn't have them. (new window)

And this quote: But [Columbine] ignited a call for more federal action to keep guns out of the hands of the violent, troubled and young--a lethal combination. Bill and I announced a proposal to raise the legal age of handgun ownership to 21, and limit purchases of handguns to one per month. (new window)

I'll contradict my own policies for you.

I think the only ones falling for this are bloggers. If anything, it just pushed the PA voter closer to the Republican party, lowers the number of cross-over republicans who will vote for Obama, and increases the number of people who will take part in the primary.

We've finally reached the point of doing more harm than good in the general election. As a card-carrying member of the Democratic party, I think she has to go. And not come back.

No, I mean her father taking her behind the tool shed.

I'm willing to bet she snuck the gun out back while her father was out and squeezed off a few rounds to impress her snowbird friends. They giggled about it during dinner that night and her father thought she was silly.

Lord_Baull 2008-04-13 10:49:03 AM
Then her father lectured her on the evils of guns and how he never wants to see her use one or she'll get a whoopin'.

I would guess her 'firearms' experience was a BB gun, nothing more.

Someone in the media should ask her what kind of firearm it was next time she mentions the story. And there will BE a next time.

And after a hard day churning butter by hand, she'd sit with the family, quietly reading the Bible by candlelight, in the one-room farmhouse in which she was raised.

"I have hunted. But I am not a hunter."

JEEEEESSSSUUUSSS. She ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wants to have things both ways. Does she have a single principle, on ANYTHING?

It must be excruciating for a waiter to take her order in a restaurant.

W: "Would you like soup or salad?"
HRC: "A little of both."
W: "Our soups are minestrone, mulligatawny, and bouillabaisse. Our dressings are Roquefort, Russian and vinaigrette. Which would you like?"
HRC: "Some of each."
W: "Would you like wheat, rye, or sesame croutons? Wait, never mind, I'll just put down 'some of each kind'."
HRC: "This all seems so effete. Please also bring me several hot dogs with various toppings, and some matzos in case the Jews are watching me."
W: stabs self with ordering pen.

Bacontastesgood 2008-04-13 01:41:53 PM
Just a flashback, and yes it was insipid, but somehow telling also, when the AP asked the candidates how they take their coffee:

DEMOCRATS:

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: Sometimes black, sometimes with cream

Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards: Doesn't drink it

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama: Black, but rarely drinks it

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson: Cream

REPUBLICANS:

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani: Splenda, Sweet'n Low or Equal, whichever is available

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee: Splenda

Arizona Sen. John McCain: Cappuccino or coffee with cream and sugar

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: Doesn't drink it, has been known to have hot chocolate

Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson: Cream

There you go. She can't even decide how she takes her farking coffee without consulting a focus group. What a sad way to live.
