There's a moral to snuff. It was highly concentrated, insuffulated nicotene product that would get you higher, quicker, and with less product but would give you cancer much faster than smoking, even in 5-10 years. It would also rot your nasal passages out. It was popular in the beginning of the tobacco era, when inefficient markets and moral opprobrium on smoking make the concentrated product more feasible. Eventually, tobacco users preferred the less potent/efficient but more palatable means of smoking to take their tobacco.

Snuff is to tobacco as cocaine is to coca leaves. The only reason why cocaine is sold in such potent form and snorted is because its illegality and inefficient markets make the sellers sell for high prices, not caring about the health of the buyers, and the buyers wanting as much bang for their buck. If it were legal, it would be cheap enough to orally ingest, with regulated manufacturers being careful not to kill their customers too quickly.

In a low enough dose carefully regulated, coca use would be a vice equivalent to smoking. In a high enough dose manufactured irresponsibly, tobacco and alcohol use would be just as dangerous as cocaine. (Think bathtub gin with antifreeze mixed in, like your great-grandparents drank during prohibition.)

Uhg, i was really drunk one night and a loose acquantance had a several months old box of snuff hed found in a drawer. IDK why i did so much, didnt really give me any noticable buzz, but then again im a light smoker. But i was blowing black boogers out of my nose for like 3 days after, blech.

Oh my farking christ! I just threw up in my mouth. And yes, I've seen someone do that.

Had a plumber in once to unclog the washer drain in the basement. My kitchen sink was full of fresh spinach, soaking. As he came up the cellar stairs into the kitchen, he spit his chaw into the sink from across the room. I didn't say a word. I was totally dumbfounded.
