There are conservative folk out there that are decent, smart, and successful. Most of these people have never harmed another human being in their lives. There are also many liberal types that raise families, contribute to the common good, and enjoy peaceful and productive lives. Each side has their needs and beliefs, and there is room in this great nation for all of them. Hillary supporters on the other hand, are the stupidest, most useless sacks of protoplasm in the universe and should be hunted down and set aflame.

"We don't get bogged down and looking back - we're always looking forward," she said, as heavy applause nearly drowned out her words. "Whatever obstacle we see, we get over it. Whatever challenge we have, we meet it. We're the problem-solvers, we're the innovators, we're the people who make the better future."

if you say that in the Skeksis voice (from Dark Crystal) it makes a lot more sense.

Ok, so somehow or other I got in a political argument in World of Warcraft (general chat is known for being a brainsuck). Got in an argument with a Hillary supporter because she/he wanted to know why I wasn't going to vote for Hillary.

So I list the blatant lies, the "I will censor video games", the fact that I just don't like the woman and that I think she's a fear monger, and what do I get? This person had no idea what I meant by the lie comment and I had to explain it ("She must have misremembered!" "Oh, yes, she misremembered a little girl's poetry for sniper fire!"), same for the video game commentary.

THEN this person said that we should vote a women in to protect abortion rights. And ignored it when I pointed out that most pro-lifers are women and the chances of Roe vs Wade being lifted are slim (I had to explain that Roe vs Wade was abortion rights!). THEN when this person found out old I am, do you know what they said?!

"Oh, when you get a little older and have a proper worldview you'll know why we need her in office."

Ok. So at 24 years old and a college graduate, I apparently don't have a proper worldview.

This person also freaked out when she found out I was pro gun. "You're an evangelical Christian, aren't you?!" Uhh, I'm a multitheistic deist, and said so. And freaked out again when I said I would sooner vote republican then vote for Hillary, and explaining that I voted on issue and person, not party, didn't help.

I had to LEAVE THE GAME to get away from this person. Even when I tried to back off ("look, just realize I have my reasons not to vote for her, ok? You can, but I won't!" didn't help at all).

I have a new definition of the word "enemy", and a severe dislike of Hillary followers. Say what you like about Obama fans, they at least listen, I think, and don't immediately make as many assumptions.

Yeah, she might have overplayed her hand on the guns bit. My first thought when I saw this stuff about her and guns was "HILLARY? Shes a HUGE gun regulation person (which I agree with btw)". Good lord shes pandering big time. On the other hand, it'll probably work. For some reason voters are willing to take huge amounts of hypocracy in their politicians.

Heh. My point EXACTLY. Okay, I'm gonna fess up to something here. I used to DEFEND her in threads like these. I cannot, in good conscience, do it anymore. I have seen the light! Thank you jeebus! My god, she is everything people say about her and more. She is dispicable, plain and simple.

bigfatdave 2008-04-12 10:40:58 PM
FTFA: She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl and said that her faith "is the faith of my parents and my grandparents."
So she just parrots the faith of her family without examining it in a critical fashion? This supports my theory that the ability to believe myths stems from early exposure to such nonsense, and that children are being harmed by exposure to these invisible friend support groups we call churches, mosques, and temples. These tax-exempt social clubs are forming the next generation of fools incapable of free & rational thought.
Politicans pander to these groups solely because they vote, and rational America does not. [At least not in nearly the same numbers]

Of course, that is as long as the ones in the possession of the firearms are government agents.

I'm surprised no one has commented yet on the blatant cheapshot, attacking Barack Obama's stance and adding that her faith is the faith of her parents and her grandparents. It is a very slick (like oily) way of saying that her family has always been Christian, so she understands faith better than someone who had a Muslim dad.

Sick.

Maybe. That'd be one hell of a troll to ride me about it for a good fifteen minutes though. I figured it was someone off of Hillaryis44. I wouldn't have even bothered but I'd actually had a decent in-game political discussion before, breaking down delegate counts and whatnot and explaining the double-count in Texas. I was hoping to get more intelligent discourse, but apparently that's too much to ask. From here on out, when I see politics being discussed, I'm leaving the chat channel.

Really, why does anyone need guns? We have an army and police force. Guns are just for rednecks with small penises. If someone mugs you it's because they grew up poor and don't know any better. We have to make society equal, then there will be less violence.

The (vaguely) Muslim dad is one thing. The atheist mom and upbringing is the really scary part to many. He might, deep down, not believe in a actively intervening, America-blessing, sky-wizard at all.

You can look up the 911 response times for your state.

You can also compare the crime rates between concealed carry permit holders and the police.

Both statistics will dismantle your argument.
