Dallas? That intersection is a stone's throw from Denton County. Have fun, Canucks. Don't get eaten by polar bears.

What the lady said, not like I was likely to show anyway. I'm kind of worthless that way.

If it were summer vacay, you'd see me there in a heartbeat. But, seeing as how it's TAKS season and the end of the six weeks, I will have to bow out.

Have fun, though! See you at the Fark Party Saturday, May 10th at Jack London's starting at 8:30pm!

Crap :(. The first Dallas-area party I could attend and I have to miss it, since my puppy will be having surgery that day and getting home at 4pm.

I look forward to attending the next one!

Considering that's a Wednesday and a 45 minute drive that could involve tolls, I will most certainly not be there. But if it were on a Saturday, yes.

But I'll be niece sitting anyways.

But what moron just decides to have a Fark Party less than a week before the date and schedules it on a freaking Wednesday?

And members of the Dallas Stars.

Oh...and you see a polar bear in Dallas, it's either time to stop abusing booze/drugs, or call the zoo and see if they lost one.

How about moving it out to sometimes between the 25th and 30th? I'm possibly moving to Dallas, so I'm coming that week to get a feel for the area...

BuzzardBreath [TotalFark] 2008-04-12 07:40:13 PM
I think filth is inferring that the location is too far north.

Sandor at the Zoo 2008-04-12 07:43:11 PM
Ha! I drive by that intersection on my commute.

That whole little shopping center there got the sh*t kicked out of it by those storms the other night. Well, some signs got blown over, at least. Still, it was pretty much the hardest hit area I saw in this part of town.

And, not to pile on subby, but isn't everything north of 635 kind of automatically not part of Dallas?

Sandor at the Zoo 2008-04-12 07:44:07 PM
And, yeah, shouldn't stuff like this be planned for a weekend?

craigdamage 2008-04-12 07:45:01 PM
Why Wednesday night?

Why up in the utterly un-cool northern suburbs of North Dallas?

....oh,I see--

$1.50 draft beer on Wednesdays.

Not bad at all.

Nos_Felix 2008-04-12 08:04:34 PM
Maybe it's because I don't troll bars often, or because I have college bars and New Orleans for reference but... that's a really nice bar.

Yeah she does. I saw this thread and wondered why I hadn't received one yet.

Can't do Wednesdays anyway. You guys have fun.

Would it have been better for all of you if I had said "Hey - cheap beer happy hour type thing that you can come to if you are so inclined, or have the time, or agree on the location, or have been known - on occasion - to enjoy a beverage during the week"?

My bad. Shiat.

By Wednesday, I usually want a fooking beer and $1.50 is a nice price to me.

Maybe no one else drinks during the week. ... or, when they do, it's to the point of extreme inebriation.

Regardless of which town annexed it years ago, far north Dallas isn't Dallas in the common usage of the word. There's a large percentage of the population of Dallas that doesn't know ANY part of what is technically Dallas extends past 635. I delivered flowers in college and my boss charged double for deliveries up there just like he did for Plano and Frisco which are by far closer to the area being discussed than is Dallas proper.

And as for the storms that hit up there, hopefully it doesn't look like my house (in Bedford). I've got a 35 foot cottonwood in my dining room/kitchen and the top half of my chimney is in my living room. It's great...

I LIVE by that intersection. But if it's Wednesday, Two Rows is right down the road and they have their microbrews for $1. (it might be $2) =)

I lived in Country Brook as a kid when there was literally NOTHING at that intersection.

The 1981 Mapsco of the area was a pink block that simply stated "Undeveloped Area."

Good times. Not really.

At least the Great Outdoors sub shop is still there.

/point of my post? Not sure.
