Do 7% even know who Bob Barr is or his issues?

It'll be like shooting fish in a barrel for Obama. Bitter, gun-loving fish.

Yeah, that 7% sure isn't coming from Obama's supporters, that much is certain. I've been giving him 60% odds of being the next President, I might just up that to 70.

His 1st words will be ".... you know as a former prosecutor...", which is waht he always says. During Clinton's impeahcment, He said that line 12 times during a CNN interview. That is b/c he has nothing else to say!

Cut me some slack. I was a Libertarian until recently. It took a bit for me to become utterly disillusioned with them. Still it's just recently I've noticed some serious social conservatives slipping into the ranks of the LP or at least getting some serious support from most Libs. That is what made me say to hell with em.

It's like Perot verson 2.0. fark I love Bob already. Can he do it? Yes he can. C'mon Bob, let's see McCain keel over of rage the day after Bob goes official.

Crazy right winger Bob Barr? That Bob Barr? Awesome! He'll pull a ton of votes from McCain and he's crazy enough that they can't buy him out of the race. Where do I donate?

Cat With Two Heads 2008-04-12 06:07:58 PM
I think you're gonna need a poll with a smaller margin of error than 3%. 7% sounds like a lot more than 'a little over twice the margin of error'

Shvetz 2008-04-12 06:08:14 PM
I'm glad that the polling was done be a reputable, impartial organization. Just kidding. That 7% is most certainly wishful thinking.

I really didn't know much about Bob Barr until I heard him in a radio interview. I then did some further research. I've decided that there's not much of a reason I can support him, but I have no opposition to him throwing his hat in the ring and having his voice heard.

Wow a poll sponsored by the Bob Barr 2008 Presidential Exploratory Committee finds 7% support across the country. Probably really 3% but Libertarians figure they're 2.5 times smarter than everyone else

I like him too. He was one of the guys who tried to keep the 94 Republican Revolution true to what they were elected to do and he got shoved out by assholes like Tom Delay and Trent Lott

After looking at some basic information on Bob Barr... how exactly is he not just a standard rank-and-file Republican? He's pretty socially conservative, loves spending huge amounts of money on the military (and social programs a la Bush), and seems to like the Awful-Idea Tax (commonly referred to as the "Fair Tax").

He hates the USA-PATRIOT Act, though he did (conditionally) vote for (and now apparently regrets voting for) it. He also appears to be a little bit more States' Rights oriented than most of the current Republican crop (though some still use the phrase to support various positions).

War on Drugs. He is a former drug warrior that has done a 180. The Drug War is perhaps the biggest issue affecting the continent.

Bob Barr and Baton Bob on the same ticket would be insane! As Office Space showed, everyone loves the two Bobs. They'd have the crazy vote locked up tighter than the liquor cabinet in Gov. Perdue's office.

/Bob Barr does have a good point now and then (broken clock, twice a day, blah blah)
//Does this mean the Paulies have a new god to worship?
///Better pay close attention to his views on drugs and other traditional right wing issues

I dont think he will pull enough votes for him to matter, I would like to see who they polled since he couldnt even win an election in georgia when they redistricted him.

Keep cheering, most likely he would get 2% of the vote, maybe. I keep telling you but none of you are listening, like it or not McCain is going to be the next president and will win by at least 15% points.

Thats if Hillary will allow the democratic party to survive the convention, else he might simply get waived on to the presidency.

No way a democrat candidate can curvive this clusterfark and win the presidency, the ugliest couple in America have decided to soil the pages of history with their sharp claws and dirty tactics.

Stoker 2008-04-12 09:13:35 PM
ahem....
Ron Paul.

Even the Libertarians should see it that way. This Barr guy would only be hurting Ron Paul, be cause he was their best choice too.

What the media doesn't want you to know...
Smart Republicans for Ron Paul,
Smart democrats and the ones who are pissed at the (D)games,
And all the Libertarians....
Makes Ron Paul a strong contender.

Barr, Nader and the like will only hurt Ron Paul. The Corporate America media knows that, but will not admit it or even give it a moments attention because Ron Paul means they lose various degrees of control over people that they have now.

It's like the many times they say Paul is out of the race when he isn't, they can't let you think he is still running. They count on fooling the people, and they do.

-------
As a Paul supporter, I find it strange for you to ask such a question. The November election is not a primary, people can vote outside their party. It matters not what he appears on the ballot as, only that people vote for him.

I am a Republican... (there I said it), but I voted for Ross Perot because I knew I did not have a better choice in that election.

Stoker 2008-04-12 09:55:21 PM
Taking another look at the question....
"what leads you to believe that Paul will appear on the November presidential ballot"

Not withstanding a printing error....
I believe Ron Paul is going all the way because he said so. Seeing his stance on everything and how he stands up against the machine, despite his inability to talk forcefully like Charlton Heston, allows me to believe this.

Why would he not be on the ballot? Has the media gotten to you?

The last time that happened was Reagan-Mondale, a popular sitting president against an inept opponent. If you think that this election is even close to that, you are smoking something.

No one is listening because what you are saying doesn't make any sense.

I would like to know the last time that steamingpile was right about a Republican. (Difficulty: Using only his posts on Fark.)

From the posts of his I've seen, he's just a sad cracker bummed about the fact that he believes the darkies have run roughshod over his perfec white man's world of yesteryear. You know, the one that never actually existed. Outside of steamingpile's mind.

But he's such a bourgeois!
