I don't get why a description of a sniper rifle on its own is threatening. If there were things in the paper that suggested somebody use a sniper rife to kill somebody else, that's different.

It is true that they don't want to be the next college campus featured on the news for promoting school shootings, nor do this guy want someone to pop up on campus with a chainsaw or sniper rifle. Silly, but whatever. The second castration becomes a public liability in his mind (zoops, sounds like we're reading about nationally!) or somebody on a spree with a machete castrating men, admin probably doesn't care.

Hopefully in this day and age censorship decisions are made on issues of liability, not on farking prudes.

I remember when I was in college, the gay & lesbian folks pushed the administration for a "gay area" where gay people could go to do whatever. Anyway, they got it, it just happened to be a game room; which was gutted.

At some point some chap decided that having a room that said "gays only" on the door violated his right to equal access. He wasn't too happy about losing his game room (this wasn't me, I swear)

He won, the admin shut the room down. The people that pushed for the rooms creation decided to stage a protest against the janitor sent in to tear down the posters and dreamcatchers and shiat. At some point, the administration decided "fark this, enough is enough" and called the police.

The final tally was something like 4 charges for trespassing, 4 charges for resisting arrest, and 2 charges for assaulting a police officer. Oh, and being kicked out of school.


Now that's punishment.
