I'm yo' mama, I'm yo' daddy
I'm that attractive and successful African-American in the alley
I'm yo' doctor when in need
Want some coke? Have some weed.
I'm yo' Pusherman...

Say it again, brother. I loved the little vignettes, like: Miles Davis' "I've had a sore throat for thirty-three years..." or, Robert Cray demonstrating how to take out an eye with a cigarette in your headstock. Awesome jams, too. Where else would you ever see Sun Ra with Sonic Youth and the Indigo Girls on the same stage. The Bootsy Collins jam was the weirdest of all.

I concur. Curtis bless your soul, you made some fine music. Thanks, subby. Wildly unpopular=brilliant.

My fave was Leonard Cohen with Sonny farking Rollins doing a dark and saxtastic version of "Who by Fire."

That was a great show. One of the best ever.

Another great one was "Sessions At W. 54th" on PBS. An excellent current music show is "Later With Jools Holland". Look for that one on the cable channel Fuse, or possibly BBC America.

Definitely. I still remember seeing The Residents, and Kronos Quartet doing "Kashmir"

Although I loved the night that Todd Rundgren and friends did Gilbert and Sullivan with Pat Metheney and Lyle Mays and Taj Mahal and David Sanborn and some guy scratching vinyl.

Man, I'd love to see that series again. I forgot that Miles vignette until you mentioned it. Really fun.
