Nice....When i call a cab...I watch for him. That way he doesn't have to wait for me (time is money for cabbies) and he knows he's got the right place. No doubt the guy radioed in and said he was there for the pickup. owever, she is Amy Whinehouse....so she can reasonably expect the cab driver to ring HER.

I see how this works now. Guy just trying to make a living getting the "I'm a biatch and your gonna take it" from a star. Feel bad for the guy. My dad was a cabbie. I'm not terribly objective in my perspective.

At least in the Seattle area, cabs charge a waiting fee. I've never actually taken a cab, but I believe it's 0.50/minute on their waiting charge.

Although not as much actually driving around, he might have still been expecting some pay. Any time my friends get a taxi, we usually get a call when they're outside. Then again, my friend who uses them the most is blind and may just be getting some special treatment from the cab company as he advises them of this.

I have never called a cab that DIDN'T call me when they are out front.

If i didn't get a call i would never know that it was out there.

This. There is no way they are going to give some cabbie Amy F**KING winelouses phone number. The guy radioed back to HQ "#77 is waiting at the residence" and hq should have called her. But, regardless of that fact, i'm on the phone 30 minutes after the initial phone call if the cab is not there. if nothing else to make sure they can find the place. If you are Amy crackhouse, and the cab hasnt arrived after whatever amount of time, are you not going to call up the cab company and say "WTF?"
