Looks like she is going to have to match the tactics of other pointless loser candidates and self finance to hide the fact no one wants to give her money.

Remove all Republicans: No, it seems the problem is she doesn't want to give anyone else any money.

She'll never run out of money if she just refuses to pay anyone, which she apparently has been doing for awhile now.

You mean, we were used just for delegate votes? I thought Hillary was a fine, upstanding American who thought we mattered! Unlike, of course, those states that had the audadicy to not vote for her.

Maybe Bill mistook the UC Davis stop for one of his paid speeches.

In this case the college would owe him $9,400.

This is a stupid story. Why did UC Davis clue in a reporter about this? Why did the reporter report it? With all of the events the Clintons have and all the bills they must incur it is not unusual for a few to go overlooked. While I am at it I think all these Chelsea stories should stop. I realize she puts herself out there but she has little choice considering her mother is Hildog. For someone that had to face puberty getting mocked by the country and her late teens putting up with multiple parental sex scandals, it is amazing that she handled it with so much grace instead of taking a bottle of pills and putting a bag over her head.

Littledogg: This is a stupid story. Why did UC Davis clue in a reporter about this? Why did the reporter report it? With all of the events the Clintons have and all the bills they must incur it is not unusual for a few to go overlooked.

Probably because the Clinton campaign seems to have a pattern of stiffing people they owe if the money isn't paid up front, and this isn't the first entity to have to go to extremes to get it's money.

Part of this pattern is blowing off attempts to collect what is owed until they are threatened with legal action or whatever, usually after the people have spent months trying to collect.

If it was an isolated incident it probably wouldn't be news.

Delawheredad 2008-04-10 04:32:21 AM
Here's a clue folks. The Clinton's never pay for anything themselves. They went into public office to earn money for themselves and to spend OTHER people's money.

Littledogg 2008-04-10 04:45:27 AM
Gardenia: If it was an isolated incident it probably wouldn't be news.

This was my point. I had not read any other stories regarding the Clintons stiffing people, but if what you say is true then it is definitely news and definitely farked up. The authors of the article should have added in an extra paragraph citing past incidences of the Clintons pulling their different dine and dashes. It never hurts to fill the reader in on important facts associated with the article. If it were not for Gardenia I would still have my head in the sand.

Hillary's campaign is broke and has been for a while now. No cash flow. They've been stiffing people and locations on bills all over the country.

Her campaign is unleashing attacks and dubious accusations on Obama like an army of itty-bitty frustrated Mike Tysons who can't seem to get an upper hand on the opponent without resorting to a cheap shot.

It's easier to see her campaign's desperation, and that of the newspapers and other media outlets who idolize Hillary.
I've noticed a few Yahoo news articles that will slyly refer to those who show up for Obama's speeches as "activists", while maintaining that those who follow Hillary are the more presumably level-headed "supporters."

Obama is being more frequently and blatantly attacked now that he is in the lead, so you know what? I don't mind the bad press for Miss Clinton when her campaign trashes an office or doesn't pay up when rent is due. I'm sure if you rented a space to her campaign and got stiffed, going to the media would get you your money within days. Better for UC Davis to get the dough now instead of hopefully getting paid after Hillary loses the nomination.

Then you aren't paying attention. This is the, at least, 10th story I've heard.

Clinton's been carrying millions in debt from month to month. At the end of February (the most recent info available), she still owed a bunch of people from December.

January of this year, and they're turning it over to a collection agency?? Seems a bit fast to me... Don't most places usually wait more than 2 months before turning stuff over to a collection agency? Seems to me they'll lose a lot of money turning stuff over that fast...

It's been like this for decades. Smart people never extend credit to any campaign for any public office--from county clerk to congressman to President. They'll promise to pay you just as easily as they'll promise things that can't happen to the voters.

Candidates are notorious for stiffing printers who make bumper stickers, yard signs and the like.

/used to fuel politicians' airplanes as they ran around; always got my money

Heh-- way to go UCD!! Former UniTard here and I remember back in 2001, before 9-11 Clinton stopped by for a paid speech. It was madness, but he actually walked THROUGH the crowd to shake peoples hands. That would never happen now. Sad really. And they are arguing over $7,000? Screw them, I have a friend who works for UCD's parking services and he confirms that they basically can print their own money by issuing parking tickets.

no Littledogg....the story isn't stupid, but your take on it is. These people haven't merely " overlooked " a few bills, they're deadbeats and the debtors have been trying to collect their money for months. Most are only going public now because it's become clear to them that Hillar is trying to stiff them.

of course, it does make one wonder why we would put her in charge of our country when she cannot even manage her campaign.

The difference between Bill and Hillary is that Hillary stiffs people, but Bill likes to give the stiff one to people.

So it's an outrage now that it's happening to your candidate? Hell, the Ron Paul people were complaining about the bias for months.

First off, it is April as someone else said and secondly, they're probably thinking they'll have a better chance of getting paid while the campaign is still active as opposed to the campaign going bust and then trying to get the money.

Could it be - I dunno... just MAYBE... that if a Presidential candidate's campaign's main story is touting her experience and positioning herself as a "ready" manager, then evidence of mismanagement is notable? And this bill wasn't "forgotten;" her campaign is well-known to be in deep financial trouble. As of March 1, FEC records show that she owed $8.7 million to nearly 700 different vendors around the country, NOT including the $5 million that she "lent" to it. In contrast, the Obama campaign owed about $800K to about 40 vendors.

Just before the PA primary, the March FECreport will come out - I VERY seriously doubt that her past-due bills to vendors will be less than $5 million, and will quite likely be more than that.
