that's funny, if you made one for "hillary's america" you'd have to cross off a hell of a lot more than that, to represent all the states that don't matter.

/if i knew the exact count off the top of my head, i'd make it

Wow, Taylor Marsh is insane. FTFA: (And let's note that in a winner-take-all system, Clinton would still be leading in delegates, 1,430 to 1,257, even without Michigan and Florida.)

IF WE CHANGED THE RULES HILLARY WOULD BE WINNING!

Yes, because a winner take all system in which a marginal victory in a large state is worth far more than decisive victories in many states makes more sense than the weighted system which more accurately reflects the national electorate's consensus. Please, stop trying to rewrite reality and DIAF.

Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her. There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female.

But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies.

Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country.

Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become. She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace.

She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.

She means to rise.

Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.

Rise, Hillary. Rise.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. ;)

If they count the votes as they stand in Florida and Michigan, Clinton would win them as all other Democrat candidates did not campaign there. Their names weren't even on the ballot due to the snafu of those states holding their primaries early or something similar.

So, of course Clinton wants them counted as she was the sole candidate.

Plus, it is the Dems own fault that they have such a wacky system in place for their nominees that put them in this mess.

it was more the dramatic language mixed with the stellar message of "woman: serious business" and "hillary wants everyone to smile more" that made me laugh.

Clinton is serious business, man. She's serious about putting Prozac in municipal water supplies before she visits towns so when she lands everyone smiles at her. She's also serious about ruining her political career, even if it means taking the rest of the Democratic Party down with her.

/does saying "man" in this context make me a misogynist?

The Clinton campaign is also telling pledged delegates to change their vote from Obama to her, explicitly going against the will of the voters. So Hillary wants your vote to matter and be counted, but only if you vote for her.

FeedTheCollapse 2008-04-09 05:16:23 PM
so is there anyone from Michigan or Florida that actually feel disenfranchised because their vote "doesn't count"? Seems like the only ones really talking about that are Hillary supporters or the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, etc.

i don't. it's a damned primary. i would have liked a revote i suppose, but there were just too many legal and financial roadblocks, and i'm certainly not a fan of hillary's financiers funding a second primary and just hoping they aren't buying the results.

if another state legislative election comes around before i leave, though, i'm voting against all the incumbents for their stupidity.

CravenMorehead: A vote for Hillary is a vote that matters. A vote for Obama is against the rules.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for political corruption and status quo.

Obama, on the other hand, will probably change things. I don't know if it'll be for the better but it'll be a change.

Overall, I'd have preferred to see Ron Paul vs Obama in the general election. that would have rocked!

Socialism isn't working in this country. Look at our market troubles, our inefficent banking system, our impending social security implosion....MORE socialism isn't the answer.

we need to go smaller. we need to reverse the trend towards more and more central control.

Under the existing system, Obama's current lead in the popular vote would nearly vanish if the results from Michigan and Florida were included in the total,

What part of OBAMA'S NAME WASN'T EVEN ON THE BALLOT IN MICHIGAN do you not understand, you farking cow? The dude is being punished for respecting the rules and Clinton and her crones cronies now has the gall to screech about it like he's the bad guy in all this.

I love how the article completely skips this fact. They could at least have written in some crap about, "Obama's supporters still could have him as a write-in," but no, TFA's author chooses a profound level of ignorance.

I'm actually impressed, they crossed out the 26th and 27th star - since Michigan and Florida were the 26th and 27th state to join the Union.
