I would see that movie... it would almost suck... Mick and the boys would make another buck... it's only rock and roll

/but I like it

Saw it a while ago. It was a yawner.

Memorable moments:

- The band jamming with opener Stevie Wonder

- A roadie banging a groupie on the tour jet. That scene alone should give it an X rating.

I think this movie would probably lose half of its appeal if you could walk into any Best Buy and pick up a copy.

Filter doesn't work much on thread headlines (threadlines?) eh?

I've got that song and "Andrew's Blues" on a cassette somewhere. Never seen the movie, though.

The new Scorsese/Stones flick is pretty dynamite. Interesting to stack it against stuff like Rock & Roll Circus...I'd love to finally see Cocksucker Blues.

I only managed to finally see Performance for the first time about two years ago.

You know if you took a lot of the things Keef says out of context and just imagine an old, drug addled man saying it, it's all really quite sad and depressing. But he's a living joke so it's okay.

Anyway, it's a good movie but almost all of it is staged.

I saw it. It's boring

The market has already been saturated with zombie movies.

I'm guessing the title came from Mick's affair with David Bowie?

"Shine a Light" rocked up to where Charlie Watts goes "Whwew!" into the camera after "All Down the Line". Then it got lethargic and stupid after that.

/Christina Aguilera!!!!???!!!

It's an excellent movie, but it really is about the general aimlessness and boredom of life on the road, punctuated here and there by some kickass shows.

you can already easily find a torrent to download a 2 dvd copy of it, why bother with an official release? I'm sure most of the good stuff would be cut out anyway.

Isn't it shown once a year, due to the contract?

Hillary_Clinton 2008-04-09 10:58:27 AM
Yes, because the Stones sued the director to prevent its release. The question of ownership of the film became the issue, and the ruling was that it can only be shown once a year and the director has to be in attendance.

Meh, I (coincidentally) d-loaded the torrent last week, I was one of the people who has wanted to see this for 30 yrs. It is pretty, pretty, pretty bad. Yah, real frickin bad.
